Cryogenics Devision

The building itself looks eerily like a smaller Refinery, based upon designs for large-scale industrial efforts learned from our yearning industrial focus, along with automation designs from Cannalan engineers with a single goal; A centralized semi-independent facility for processing an entire army worth of troops utilizing the next generation of Cryostat "Thinking" tanks.

The facility, built in a secret area ( Forest near the capital city), is expansive and filled with an ambitious amount of cryostatic tanks along with its supporting infrastructure. Each tank draws its chemical from a centralized infrastructure, drastically reducing the need for overall technicians and hopefully increasing efficency. The tanks themselves in this facility has been improved, implementing Automation techniques shown in the Cannalan brewery.

Simply put, this facility has been engineered both as a test facility and as a mass production area, designed to apply chemical procedures that utilize cryostatic tanks on a massive level, with the end goal of being able to apply treatments ( of varying quality) to our entire army and then as an area for developing new Cryostatic treatments.  All current Cryostatic tanks that are not in vital positions are to be moved to this facility to ease resource constructions, as they will be refitted to fit upon the modern generation of Cryostatic Tanks.

Quote from: Musings from the CryoGenics Devision
My favorite part of the facility is the cryostatic tank rooms. They are big enough to get lost in, and ironically enough, the frigid temperatures combined with the stark lack of moisture in the rooms require sub-zero clothing, and more then one of our personnel has gained frostbite from the biting cold, In that aspect, the brutes on the other side of the ocean has us beat. Rows and rows of Cryostatic tanks necessitate the cold, after all. Wandering down the frosty metal halls, viewing through the glass slits, and watching my Wards, and my captives churn in the cold.  I live in a winter wonderland, and all my toys are becoming reality.

Tl;Dr  Build a big lab filled with automated cryotanks to make the next generation of ze super soldiers.

Is there any reason not to stick the Cryogenics Devision on top of The Refinery, in the old Division of Biological Manipulation rooms? It gives you easy access to the 'supporting infrastructure' you wanted, and construction would be cheaper.

Because unlike the Refinery, this needs access to our army as well as industrial resources, and I am a little uncomfortable having large portions of our army near our incredibly hillarious Refinery.

I don't think The Refinery is that dangerous... Ah, well, its your revision.

Revision: The Rebound Circuit
The main gun of the Halberd has highlighted an inefficiency present in all our coilguns; they waste power like nobody's business. The Rebound Circuit, constructed from heavy duty metallized ceramic diodes and capacitors, replaces the Halberd's existing coilgun charging circuit, and solves this problem by capturing the current induced by the firing of a magnetic weapon and putting it back into the capacitors used to charge the weapon, as opposed to the crude safety mechanism of the original designs, which allowed it to dissipate into heat for fear of damaging the circutry. No more! The metallization of industry had not reached far enough, but the new generation diodes and capacitors can wrestle that lightning back into the bottle from whence it came.

Yeah, we kinda need better armor and weapons now. I'll pass on creating more infrastructure until we have a clear, lasting advantage.

Revision: The Rebound Circuit
Normal: (1+1) = 2: Utter Failure

It turns out that the fear of damaging circuitry was very much a realistic fear.

We've created a prototype coilgun cannon similar to that of the Halberd using new circuits built from the requisite materials, but the circuits are simply unable to handle the capturing of electricity used in powering coilgun blasts. When the prototype fires, we can succesfully partially refill the capacitors, but in the process the circuitry is melted into uselessness. As it stands, if we attempted to incorporate this into our current coilguns then the gun would be rendered useless after its first shot.

On the slightly brighter side, some engineers have come up with the basis of a proposal to use metal recombinators to achieve a more resistant circuitry. It would still take some work to implement, but it means that if we attempted to do this (or something similar) again we'd have something better to work off of.

So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

Combat Phase 1961
Link to Combat Report (Core Thread)

The Mountains
The Halberd Battletank apparently just wasn't enough to continue our advance.

Our new battletank is a good tank, but it doesn't fare well against Mereth's army. The new main coilgun has no real use in the field. It's too unwieldy at the moment to use against infantry, and while it would be great against Merethan armor, Mereth doesn't have armor. The Osprey is okay against regular infantry, but without its powered assisted shots it's practically useless against their Bear Armor troopers. When combined with the fact that Mereth already has an anti-tank weapon imported from Forenia, the tank just doesn't have a large enough impact.

The Sea
We're somewhat surprised that Mereth continues to not help their sea, but we'll take what we can get.

Next year we'll fight on the plains, and the rest of the military has asked us to prepare accordingly.

Huh, completely outplayed. Well, I guess if they go for armor this turn we already have a contender lined up.

I considered a mobile coilgun AA truck or something, but we could probably solve our air inferiority more concisely with an aircraft of our own. Also, we should make a lander or artillery piece at some point for the plains. I kinda doubt they won't go for something to push us back in the sea, though, so it can perhaps wait. Also, I'm stupid and dumb and can't write semi-realistic modernish designs myself and will instead work on obtaining the Knowledge necessary to do so!

Okay I have deviated from my own glances on what we lack as a military force in the Cold War, and the things that the enemy has over us that we could spend time on improving.
First off they have aerial support already from there Lightning Streak as it is a dedicated air-superiority jet fighter while we have propeller planes and a multi-role jet fighter, secondly they have artillery known as there ICE but secondly they have targets that can be bombed at, they lack any sort of armor or vehicles except there giant drills on the ground. This means if we research an artillery for our own the only targets we would have is masses of infantry, in which they really do not have. Conclusively there powered-armor troopers are still a problem, while powered shots from the Osprey will certainly pierce there armor, its not lethal is the problem, because of the extensive armor. Also conclusively our military is still utilizing destroyers when we should be utilizing missile cruisers in the Cold War. Let's hopefully with the revision import our missiles from cannala, and utilize our coil-technology and develop a very effective boat?. Anyways it seems like we need either a new aerial fighter, a anti-air vehicle, or a new missile cruiser that we could utilize once we import the missile from Cannala.

Quote from: The Interceptor
"Interceptor" Coil Based Air Superiority Jet Fighter CBASJF-6X

Quote from: The Missile Cruiser
"Harbinger" Electromagnetic Propulsed Missile Cruiser EPMC-6X

Quote from: The Flak Tank
"Hydra" Electric-Motor Flak Tank EMFT-61
As we have many problems with dealing with our enemies aerial support as we had to deal with the menacing Lightning Streaks and now the controversial how-the-hell-does-that-work four winged Blizzard jet vehicle, we needed a proper surface-to-air missile or cannon that we can utilize so that we can deal with these threats. Our knowledge of coils and magnets, but especially electric batteries have allowed us to develop such a vehicle.
This new form of a tank, in which we can both agree with on the Aratam national military that they would like new forms of tanks in their arsenal. Has a unique way in which it utilizes four heavy auto-loading cannons like the 120 mm cannon utilize in the halberd. However these four very auto-leading cannons are interfaced with a very advanced form of guidance and radio system that allows the operators of these tanks to interface with these four cannons to hit an aerial enemy target. The four normal cannons are all fired consecutively from each other and all have a intensive amount of reserve AA shrapnel shells so that the Hydra can fire its flak multiple time in the sky without interruption. Since all of the cannons on the tank are utilizing the power of shrapnel and that aircrafts are often lightly armored as it difficult to put armor in the sky, it would mean any aircraft ship that meets the force of one of the shrapnel of the shell will quickly realize the devastating force of the flailing metal will have completely penetrated it and nearly-guarenteed blown the aircraft up. All the shells utilize a proximity-based detection system that utilizes radio waves which makes the shrapnel shells explode if the targets gets close enough.

While indeed the tank utilize the same form of treads and armor plating that the Halberd has, their has been significant time on increasing the amount of electrical charge that a SynthOil battery pack can store so that it allows this vehicle to work in its intended role as mobile anti-air gun. The guidance system while still somewhat simplified to the technology of the Cold War, we have found ways to integrate a dedicated guidance system that configures with the tank's electronics to allow it target aerial targets that are hundred of meters off the ground and allow the tank's normal cannon to blow them up. The Hydra, also needs an only a single SynthOil battery pack as the other four cannons do not utilize electromagnetic-based technology and utilize normal AA Aircraft cannons to fire in a consecutive to reduce the strain in the vehicle gears and electronics, it only need a single SynthOil battery pack for it to power movement and just general parts of the tank. While still a novel idea and ignored in the Halberd tank, just like the APC it still equipped with smoke grenade launchers so that it create smoke clouds for our infantry in any guaranteed.

The guidance system is very simple actually, it's just utilizes radar and just notices the disturbances and messes with electromagnetic waves that aircraft often do in the skies to track and locate the basic "idea" of the target, as radar has the ability to mess and discern the location of object in the sky just making the slightest amount of light, this form of radar can track those objects in the sky. Rather the very normal not electromagnetic cannons all utilize Flak, so they shoot out shells into the sky that flail into a bunch of shrapnel that decimate aircraft through just pure area of effect, how is an airplane going to avoid shrapnel in the sky? Also the cannon really has two weapon subsystems as well, the tank has four cannon on its main head, but two cannons are aligned to the other side of each tank, which it can also utilize its cannon to slightly aim down against infantry and fire a bunch of "AP" shrapnel shells against infantry.

The Hydra Tank is a new incorporation of a mobile anti-aircraft gun that has the mobility and armor of a tank, developed with special guidance systems to allow the four auto-loading cannons to blow anything in the sky to many many pieces. It still has room for an electronic battery motor to power it as well, especially because all of its shells explode into a lot of shrapnel, and are based on proximity-based technology.

Edit: I am not currently done with the other two design's description, I wanted to get the Flak Tank idea out there before the aerial superiority fighter and missile cruiser.

"Rectifier" ECC Battle Tank ECCB-62

Simply put, the ECCB-82 is a variant of the Halberd, with the intent on replacing the coil gun with another, designed for knocking out infantry as well as tanks. To this end, the barrel of the weapon has been converted to be able to "switch" its modes and instead fire a shells worth of magnetic flechettes if loaded with the associated shell. It's a shotgun of horrific proportions, the pellets are flung by a disposable "accelerator" plate that disperses the munitions the moment it leaves the barrel. The Flechettes design goal is to be fast enough and big enough to pierce Bear armor, as they have been formed with special regards to being able to pierce armor and accelerate as fast as possible using magnetic acceleration. to this end, many rare alloys like Cobalt, magnesium and other such materials are tested if they can fit into the niche of being both magnetic and armor piercing. the final metallic alloy is built in both the metal plate and the flechettes. The rotors and other such machinery are also rebuilt to hopefully handle faster movement and more accurate targeting acquisition. Although not directly attended, one optimistic goal is to have the tank be able to shoot down aircraft with its Flechette. Cannon.
In addition, the electronics division is tasked with figuring out how to put some good electric heaters in the tanks so as to speed up recovery from enemy cryo-weaponry, and maybe optimise the petrochemical batteries to be able to be refilled in the battlefield.

In short, the goal of the design (In order of importance) is to
  • Create a coil weapon designed to shoot both standard rounds and "Flechette" rounds. If there are problems involved in this process, the weapon can be dedicated to the single laser focus of its Flechette variant
  • Optimise the rotors of the Tanks main weapon
  • Make a specialized alloy for the flechettes and the acceleration plate of the tank for AP rounds.
  • Heaters.
  • Optimise Petro-batteries so that they can be refilled on site, with a tank of gas. Disregard this if it's already possible.

Besides just stating VOTE!; I am working on the electromagnetic propelled missile design that would be utilized by a Missile Cruiser and Jet Fighter, I guess getting that Missile import would be really valuable.

CryoStat Truck ‘Black Coach’
The latest generation of the CryoStat Tank, this variant is designed from the outset to fit all its machinery inside a truck. An update on the Privateer, the Black Coach uses a number of SynthOil batteries to power an efficient electric motor. When the Black Coach arrives at the deployment point, the cargo section can be unfolded and the CryoStat Tank quickly assembled to form a fully functional device. With the aid of the automation improvements from the Embassy and the use of the SynthOil batteries to power the CryoStat Tank when in deployed mode, a field hospital can be quickly formed. A variant without all the CryoStat machinery can also serve to replace the Privateer entirely.

We don't need a field medical area right now, since its too slow to treat that many people.

I would prefer a better tank, but a Hydra works.
