Also try with default tileset and not resizing the window.

For me it only works with either pocket world or very short history. Any attempt at worldgen which isn't either of those things ends in a crash.

For me it's just generally hit-or-miss. Some worlds will crash, others won't, regardless of the size or age of the world in question.

When the worlds do work though, hoo boy! So many new features to explore. :)

I got it to work by not interrupting world gen..

Not gonna bother testing further to see if that caused it since I have a world.

Yeah, either go with a 5 year history for big worlds, or a pocket dimension for long histories, and you should be able to generate a map.

Or just reroll the history seed ad infinitum until the world stops crashing.

You can get a normal size/length world with a bit of patience. Mine was crashing a lot but still managed a medium with 125 year history in a couple of dozen attempts. Gonna have some small babby megabeasts but other than that there's not a huge amount of difference between a 125 world and a 250 world.

Hotfix patch ahoy!
Good news, since the only world I managed to gen last night didn't have a lot going on.

Yeah, world gen crashing seems about normal for initial releases before all the fixes are done - gen pocket/small worlds and you'll be usually fine.

Don't celebrate the release, celebrate when the release bugs are fixed. ;)

Try playing in adventure mode in a heavily populated site and get to know this wonderful bug.  Watch your fps crawl down to the point it takes 3 hours to get anywhere in at all within the site you starting off in.
