Another bunch of dwarfs view questions.1:When you lock a door shouldn't a dwarf have to go and lock the door?Same with siege engines when you churn the direction.2:How do dwarfs train hydras or dragons or anything dangerous with out losing a arm?

Suspension of disbelief, man. It's often simpler to implement things this way.

And dwarfs do sometimes lose arms (or heads or bodies) when they train hydras and dragons, particularly if the creatures they're training have attacked other members of the civ before.

The closest thing Bay12 has to a flamewar is an argument over philosophy that slowly transitioned to an argument about quantum mechanics.

The trick is to only make predictions semi-seriously.  That way, I don't have a 98% failure rate. I have a 98% sarcasm rate.

Feel free to suggest manual locking/turning. There's already something like it in the form of having to retake doors after invaders go through as well as levers.

Also, meat is more tasty than dwarf. This doesn't apply for gelding, though, in which case the creature may attack the dwarf depending on skill and luck.

Last time I checked, trained roc is still considered hostile and the dwarves will try to kill it once it leaves the cage. I don't know if dragons have this problem though.

Making creatures unable to breed. Useful if you have too many cats (Blasphemy!).
