Sorry about the late update, I got bogged down and then got sick after I posted the delayed deadline.

Goltor
You head further north again, and find an abandoned cathedral with large catacombs beneath it. The city it is in is abandoned other than some animals that were left behind or moved in after the humans left.

Ka'uratazun
The creatures scramble away from you, sprinting around the cave to avoid you. Some faster ones mangae to scramble out of the cracks, but most fail to do so,
 and attempt to surrender.

Lakami
Quality of life goes up in the border, but remains fairly unchanged in the central areas. Expansion continues well, and reports come in magically from your fleet that they can now see the mainland. Your search for stronger materials turns up mostly empty handed, as you only find a crystal that is very hard on the surface.

Qassatoughua
The ships are nearing an island, and the continent.

Ertane
The refugee 'merchant fleet' arrives on the Nekohlin shores, while scouts go out to the mainland. The reports come in that they saw no monsters in the shadows. They just felt dread and saw the Todeslande moving towards Iomeer's massive defenses. A small fleet of ships arrives from the west, crewed by what appears to be lizard and snake people.

Neriend and The Messenger
Neriend begins the defensive spell, quickly weaving the magic that would prevent the Messenger from harming her, but the animated statues step forward, bringing down their massive weapons upon her, killing her.

Nekohlin

Foreign Affairs:
The Iomeer are currently entirely evacuated, except for the massive armies to the south, prepared to fight the darkness. Currently the Yinglet themselves are still not having the birth issues that the Nekohlin are, but are dealing with crop failure and tainted water. Luckily for them it seems they can eat them just fine. The trade wagon finds that they have started producing some rather good buildings and farms, but have little that is properly valuable. Although it is being suggested that that might change soon.

Internal Affairs
You start work on machinery to perform basic tasks, but they are taking a while, as they are large and complex constructions. Currently the smaller settlements are having no different issues than the larger ones, but they are glad that the leader is thinking of them. They promise to inform you if comes up.

Llychlyn
During the construction, some metals prove to be more useful than others, as you can hammer sticks of it into the pieces of wood to stick them together. This makes the construction of the wooden structures significantly easier. You complete these fortified structures faster than you could have imagined. People's morale are slightly buoyed by the publicly calm demeanor of their queen.

Ertane:
Island- With the vast swathes of Iomeeran soldiers prepared to defend their borders, the various peoples of the island breathe a few sighs of relief. Efforts change from military preparedness to civil restructuring, and they continue to work on supplementary food supplies in order to wait out the siege. Meanwhile, the scouts are overlooking the Iomeeran front lines, in order to watch the expected combat unfolding.

Merchant Fleet- The Merchant fleet of Ertane arrives at the shores of the Nekohlin, carrying a wealth of gold and trade items. They seem intrigued at the multiracial settlement being developed, and a spokesperson bedecked in sealcoat and chains attempts to seek some kind of audience with their leader.

Interplayer action.

The Merchant Fleet leader is directed to a large stone tower at the Nekohlin capital. Multiple guards are posted outside the entrance, but they do not take action against the stranger. On the base floor of the tower, a bored-looking Nekohlin woman sits at a large stone desk. "Welcome to Executive Tower, please state your name and purpose of visit."

With the work on construction going so well, Eheubryd felt quite relieved. Some basic defenses where made, and now people where starting to live in homes that where getting better and better every day. Most of these buildings where fairly long and had a stone hearth in the main room which would be used for cooking and heating. Eheubryd was much closer to what she had seen in her dreams, the buildings very similar to what she saw, and although she wasn't close to the defensive structures she had saw, she felt that it was good enough to simply let her people spread the knowledge around and for the villages and towns to build up the buildings and basic defenses so to be safer and have a much higher standard of living on their own time.

Regardless, now that such buildings where made, Eheubryd thoguht it was time to work once again on the metals as to find out more about how to utilize them and what worked best at what. If any attack was made they needed to be prepared with the materials that they had at hand, and knowing how useful metals where, knowing what metals worked best for a hammer would help not only in making tools out of the best metals they could find, but also weapons, both in what they are made out of and what the hammer molding the weapon is. For fairly obvious reasons, the first metals that would be looked into to see what was best at what would be the ones that where useful in the construction of the buildings that had been made, but other metals would be looked into too in case there was better use for them in other ways.

Eheubryd felt a bit more confident with how well things had been going these past few seasons, and no longer needed to put on a facade of being calm, although that was not to say she wasn't worried, but her fears had been eased with the progress that had been made. She also knew that plenty of things where to happen in the coming weeks, and that talking to the more powerful chiefs of the clans, which she wasn't particularly thrilled to do as they would rather work more on the current project she had set the nation to work on. Yet it was necessary to do as queen, and it was something she needed to do if they where to have a heir in the future, along with to see how things could possibly be improved in Llychlyn.

The misanthopic Ka'uratazun wasn't intending to let the intruders survive, and that opinion did not change in the past few minutes. If anything she was even angrier than before because a certain dragon probably made off with some of her treasure! She moves back to the center of the cave, almost gracefully yet still clearly seething with anger. She chants a spell again. "A exercitus capit aurea mille mittent coronas suas ante agendae negotium nobilem!"

A thousand golden blades in her lair rise up once again, forming a circle around her. They float in a circular pattern for about ten seconds before flying towards the cavern walls to skewer the survivors. With their ranks broken, their will to fight all but shattered, their dragon ally's leaving and the spell having already repelled a similar attack, their odds of surviving this next attack were considerably lower. She would then systematically smite any creatures left standing after that with her claw with the exception of one or two that she may decide to devour instead. Normally Ka'uratazun preferred large prey, but she just got a bit of a workout and a dragon of her size burns a lot of energy.

If asked to describe a dragon's teeth, the average person might compare their mouth to a butcher's shop. For some dragon's that might ring true, though earth dragons like Ka'uratazun's teeth were actually quite a bit different than a common reptiles pointed incisors. She had about two hundred conical teeth near the front of her mouth in two rows, arranged in a sort of triangular fashion. The edges of these teeth were actually rounded. It was the dragon's great strength that allowed these fangs to tear flesh and even shatter large rocks, which she would occasionally use to supplement her diet. The flat molar-like teeth at the back of her mouth were the ones that were more likely to be what actually kills her smaller prey however. Their crushing and grinding force was truly immense and they could crack a knight's armor or reduce rock and bones alike into dust in a matter of seconds. While the inside of a dragon is much more vulnerable to attack than the outside, the mouth was not the best example of this. Regeneration was one thing that the old dragon was absolutely terrible at, but the parts in her mouth was one of the few parts of her that could regenerate fairly well. Simply put, being eaten by this dragon is not a good way to get in one last hit before you die.

She would continue until either she was the only living thing that remained in her lair, or until something happened that would disrupt this plan. Should she see it through to completion, she would then smash through the rocks that blocked the entrance and get a feel for the area around her. If one of the escapees thought it would be a good idea to try to make off with something of value they would be in for a nasty surprise: Ka'uratazun would be able to sense any gold or gemstones from beyond her ability to see and hear and she would move to take back what is hers. Failing to sense such a presence, she would remain at her lair and double check to ensure that nobody was still hiding in the vicinity.

"Welcome to Executive Tower, please state your name and purpose of visit."

"Merchant O'Shea. We've come with trade goods with which to barter refuge, and hire mercenaries."

[Supernerd]

Interplayer Action

The Nekohlin lady responds. "That's really more of a matter for the corporations... _{Though I suppose Torin-sama did mention something about foreign plants}... I suppose he can spare some time for a human merchant. If you want to meet with our leader, you may proceed up the staircase behind me. You'll need to leave any weapons you may be carrying with the guards here first however. You'll get them back before you leave."

Beyond the Nekohlin is a rather long spiral staircase that leads up the tower. There are a number of offices within this tower, and a few Nekohlin guardsmen on patrol. O'Shea would be able to ascend the staircase to come before a large wooden door without incident should he leave any obvious weapons he might be in possession of with the guardsmen.

Every spare weapon having been left at Ertane, the merchant shrugs and continues upwards.
Coming before the great door, he gives a few courtesy thumps before pulling it open.

"Greetings from Ertane. I assume we're not the first refugees you've seen aflounder?"

Interplayer Action

Merchant O'shea opens the door to the office of the Nekohlin leader, and a few of the guards appear to be a bit anxious about the way that he decided to introduce himself. A Nekohlin man with silver colored fur sits behind a large desk within the room beyond the door. There are some potted plants in the corner of the office, a rather odd-looking contraption on the floor, and a number of charts pinned up to the walls alongside what appears to be an unfinished map. The Nekohlin mean, presumably their leader, responds.

"You could say that, I suppose. So the people of Ertane are also suffering hardships these days... If there's anywhere else that you can go, I would recommend you do so. As much as I would hate to turn you away, we are already brushing against the limits of how many people that we are able to feed."

[Tack]

O'Shea is taken aback.
"Do I look like just another mouth to feed?" He hesitates. "More on that later. We're also hiring mercenaries. We can promise an arm of steel to whichever warriors wish to join our boats and head south to Ertane. It seems something nasty is blowing forth from the todeslande, but we left too early to know for sure."

Qassatoughua shall try to break enchantment on one of the boats ( not the one it is hiding below ) to figure out, how it is repelling darkness, and if it is possible to turn into spell.

Messenger will search Neriend for " item of power " or the focus used for spell weaving.

The Nekohlin man considers the Ertanian's words. It sounded like they wanted to hire mercenaries that they may or may not need to face off against a threat that may or may not exist. It didn't seem to make very much sense to him. Rather than calling the logic of the Ertanian's wisdom into question, he instead told him this.

"We are not sending out state troops to do mercenary work at this time. One of the Trade Enterprises might be willing to do something to help, but we have too many local threats to send a legion overseas. I suspect that the Ijzervolk are suffering from the same issues that we are with their farmland, and if history is anything to go by, their solution to that problem would be to steal from their neighbors."

(I'll be honest, I'd need to do some heavy retconning to make up for the meta-knowledge I've already thrown out accidentally.)

"We ourselves have had issues with our fish, though we didn't think the malady would have spread this far. Perhaps it is best we continued onwards after all."
