The Internet Fandom Survey
« on: November 15, 2017, 02:55:14 am »

I've wanted to do something like this for a long time, but now I think I am competent enough for this project. It would survey the Internet's fandoms, how many members are in a given fandom, who are they allied with, etc. PM if you have any good ideas on how to do this.

Legend:

Size: How big is the fandom.

Expansiveness: How big does it expand as of November 2017.

Maturity: How mature is the fandom, e.g FNAF fandom would get an 1. Something like DF would get a 10.

Current estimates for fandoms I've been looking at recently:

Undertale Fandom:

Size: 8/10, Expansiveness: 4/10, Maturity: 4/10

Population: ?, maybe a hundred thousand?

Notes: Was really aggressively expansive in the first year (2015), but calmed down, prone to R34.

Alliances: Furries, occassionally Cave Story.

FNAF Fandom:

Size: 6/10, Expansiveness: 3/10, Maturity 1/10.

Population: ?, maybe 50 thousand?

Notes: Like UT fandom, but worse.

Alliances: ?

Furries:

Size: 10/10, Expansiveness: 7/10, Maturity: Varies due to a wide demographic.

Population: ?, maybe a million or two?

Notes: Diverse due to size, quite expansive.

Alliances: Basically any media that features furries, EVER.

Haven't been collecting info on others, whuch is why I made this thread. We need to fill the ?s by visiting fansites, probably. Also, more fandoms. DF itself seems the next target.

Mostly phone-posting, sorry for any typos or autocorrect hijinks.

I am no statistics master--but a good starting point may be relevant forums or wherever people hang out and getting the numbers for total users, active users, and moderator activity.
