Bloody Bay: Cabalvision (IC Thread)
« on: November 11, 2017, 12:18:14 pm »

Good evening ladies and gentlemen! You are watching Cabalvision!

This is the IC thread for Bloody Bay. You can find the OOC thread here. If you did not register your team in the OOC thread, you may still post here - as one of the spectators. If you are a spectator, you can vote on who is most deserving of MVP awards, and possibly do some other sneakier things at the GM's discretion.

The first game will be decided by the first two teams to arrive at the stadium. I will start by hosting one game so that I can get a feel for how many simultaneous games I will be able to handle. Each game will be prefaced by a channel in bold - so if you want to keep tabs on a specific game you can safely skip ahead and look for the channel markers.

Reminder: In this particular game, the GM will never fudge a dice roll. The GM may twist the actual rules of the game a bit, but the dice results will never be tampered with no matter how suspiciously biased they may appear. Remember - when it comes to dice you are never due for a win. Such is the way of Nuffle.

Spoiler: The Wyld Hunt (Fairy) (click to show/hide)

Channel 1 Pre-game initialization

Weather: Nice

Spoiler: Miskatonic Bastards (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Ethereal End-Zoners (click to show/hide)

Match time!

Weather roll = 1+5: It is a nice day out, perfect weather for playing Blood Bowl!
The referee flips a coin, with the logo for the Miskatonic Bastards on one side and the logo for the Ethereal End-Zoners on the other: Miskatonic Bastards win the coin flip!

The head coach for the Miskatonic Bastards now needs to make a choice. Do they want to start off receiving the ball (Offense), or kicking the ball (Defense)?

The team playing defense at the start of a drive must set up their player's positions first. The team playing offense sets up their players immediately after. If you start the game playing offense, you will play defense at the end of half time and vice versa. The offense players get the first turn.

When setting up your players there are three rules you must follow.
- You must have 11 players on the pitch, unless you have less than 11 players available in which case all available players go on the pitch.
- You must have at least 3 players on the line of scrimmage. (The white line dividing the field horizontally down the middle is the line of scrimmage. The players must be right up against that line, and not in a wide zone to count)
- No more than two players can be on the left or right wide zone. (The white lines dividing the field vertically show where the right and left wide zones are.

Somehow I didn't notice that, stuff like this has happened multiple times today.

For some reason when I was visualizing where they would be placed in my head, my brain recognized the symmetry, and just went "yup that looks good."

Uk-Ma E 1

Uv-Ko J 1
Ol-So M 1
Vi-Ka B 2
Ek-Lr J 2

Va-Ra L 1
Bo-Ki K 2

Ro-Ab H 4

Im-Do E 8
Ri-Gu K 8

I've never actually played as elves or a super dodgy team other then rats, so this might be an absolutely horrible set up. But I'll give it a go.

Channel 1 Pre-Game Initialization

Spoiler: Miskatonic Bastards (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Ethereal End-Zoners (click to show/hide)

The Ethereal End-Zoners take to the field!

The Miskatonic Bastards must now pick a player to kick the ball, and a tile on the opponents side of the field to kick it to!

Note that without a player with the kick skill, the ball has a very large scatter range. If the ball does not end up on the opponents side of the field, a Kickback will occur, allowing your opponent to choose any of their players to receive the ball.

Channel 1 Ethereal End Zoners Turn 1 - Miskatonic Bastards turn 0

Spoiler: Miskatonic Bastards (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Ethereal End-Zoners (click to show/hide)

Rolling for fan factor. (This should have been done earlier)
Miskatonic Bastards: 4 + 4 + 0 (Fan Factor) = 8
Ethereal End-Zoners: 2 + 3 + 0 (Fan Factor) = 5
Advantage of +1 fame to Miskatonic Bastards!

Edie Laurent kicks the ball aiming at H8!
Scatter roll: 3 (Down and to the right)
Distance roll: 6
The ball is heading for N2!

Kick off Event!
4 + 4: Brilliant Coaching!
Miskatonic Bastards roll: 1 + 0 Assistant coach + 1 fame
Ethereal End-Zoners roll: 1 + 0 Assistant coach + 0 fame

The Miskatonic Bastards gain 1 additional team reroll this half due to excellent coaching! (Or at least, sufficient coaching)

Scatter roll: 3 (Down and to the right)
The ball bounces on N2 and lands on O1!

It is now Turn 1 for the Ethereal End-zoners!

If you are unfamiliar with what a player can do, please click here and check page 7 of the official NAF rulebook.

For the sake of efficiency, please declare more than one action per post when you can and explain what you would do in the event of each possible dice rolls. (You do not need to take an entire turn in a single post, actions in a turn can be dependent on the results of other actions.) If you do not specify otherwise, the GM will make the following assumptions:

1. When blocking, the GM will assume you will pick the option that will knock down your opponent provided that it does not knock down your player too. If that is not possible, the GM will assume a push result. If given the choice between "both down" and "attacker down", the GM will assume you would prefer both down. If you do not specify you want to follow up, the GM will assume you do not intend to follow up. If your block would result in a turnover, you will be prompted if you want to reroll, if you can.

2. When making a move action, the GM will guess the route that you want to take based on what the GM would probably do. Note that the GM will not spend much time calculating the probability of dodges. You can and should manually specify the route. If a route with no obstacles exists, the GM will make your player take that route.

3. The GM will always assume that the first action you list is the first action you intend to take. This is important because if a turnover occurs, none of the actions written after the turnover inducing action will take place.

Remember, a players action for the turn will end the instant you take any action with another player, and they will be unable to act until next turn.

Vi-Ka Moves to D -5
Re-Ma Moves to N 1
Im-Do Moves to H 2

Va-Ra throws a two dice block at Conall Williams (RR if failed):

Defender downs and defender stumbles are preferred, and will move him N -1 Va-Ra will follow
Both down is second preference
Push will move him to N-1 Va-Ra Will follow

If Va-Ra pushes Conall, Ol-So will block him with another two dicer (RR if failed):

Downs and stumbles once again preferred. Move him to O-1 and follow
Push is second preference. Move him to O-1 and DON'T follow.

Channel 1 Ethereal End Zoners Turn 1 - Miskatonic Bastards turn 0

Spoiler: Miskatonic Bastards (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Ethereal End-Zoners (click to show/hide)

Vi-Ka moves to D-5
Re-Ma moves to N1
Im-Do moves to H2
Va-Ra blocks Conall Williams! (3+2 vs 4 strength).
Block rolls: Defender Down or Defender Stumbles

Conall Williams is knocked down, and pushed to N-1. Va-Ra follows up.
Armor roll (9+): 3 + 4. Failed.

It is still the Ethereal End Zoner's turn!

Note that a red circle on the field indicates that a player has already taken their action. A red downward facing arrow indicates the player is prone. Remember that a prone player emits no tackle zones.
