Elven Furniture and tools...
« on: November 05, 2017, 04:06:07 am »

Are they structurally different than other wooden items in the game? Because tree shaping does exist IRL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree_shaping and the items that can be produced this way appear to be made in a way where they would both look distinct and perhaps be harder to break than normal wooden items, Is this the case in DF, IF not I think I might make a new suggestion thread....

I don't think elves and their elvy ways are quite properly implemented yet - I think we're going to see some big differences in what they make and how effective/dangerous their grown wooden items and tools are once the magic release happens.  It would be really neat to see a discernable difference between tree song furniture and regular furniture, but as of right now I don't think there is any other than the "grown" tag.

I think the grown tag is the only difference, as Runaway_char said. However, I don't think there will be any dire need for Toady to touch grown items in the first several Myth & Magic arcs, as the "schedule" is bursting in the seams with things that have to be handled. Thus, I think it may take quite some time before that's addressed (my guess is that it would happen when elves are made playable).
