btw im having problems to keep my colonys happy now. i need more buildings to get any research done and have a large enough fleet, so i cant upgrade my buildings fast enough to keep them happy.
and, tbh i dont like this "upgrade or revolt!" mecanic not very much, especially if its harder to expand now. cant you replace the surce of unhappyness by something else, or reduce it, or at least increase the number of buildings allowed per secotor?

for sure something there has to happen, it's quite stubbed right now.

I'm working at ringworlds etc to reduce crowding, that'll help on it's own, then I'll get to balance colonies. btw the original idea for colony revolt goes something like this, and I'll implement that before tuning balance: when they revolt, you get two option: let them go / fight them; if you let them go all colonies under 50% stability leaves. If you fight all colonies under 25% stability join forces, and the number of colony in each side influences of many of your ship take each side. then a battle takes place and if you lose they leave, if you win stability grows back +75 points. I've still to work on making your own fleet take part in a battle against itself, because now the side flag influences both targeting and the ship sprite itself

the colonies and ifnrastructure menu doesn't work anymore, can't assign artifacts and battles start, but ships neither move nor fire.

sorry try hitting the refresh button a couple times. browser kinda sucks for multifile releases :(

hey, the new building thingies are nice :)
somewheat later in the galaxy it makes raids more or less a waste of time, but i think thats great. at that point i rather want to hunt artefacts anyhow :)

fleet comp screen also is much better, tho i think it still can be improved. its quite a hazzle still to setup a fleetcomp as i want it. i think its necessary to show production vs support there, and i think it was much smoother if the screen would allow numeric input how many ships of a kind i want.
anyway, much better. at least now i can set it up and it will rebuild it that way if i lose ships, so thats great :)

oh, and another thing about fleetcomps. i think it was mentioned before that the first ship of a kind is free. this is realy cheesy when restarting a galaxy. having a free cruiser, or even a free frigate means one can just click expand 20 times and skip the sectors alltogether.

thanks! you all provided great feedback and the area of improvements where easy enough to manipulate.

anyway, I already changed so that only the fighters can get the kinda free one, just to make sure nobody gets stuck. might be some bug here and there in fleetcomp but should be more intuitive and linear.

btw I'm not exactly against people getting back to where they were after a restart easily, because I don't want that restart part to feel a chore - so there's some deliberate effort at making subsequent runs easier (i.e. research not resetting).

uhm how that would work if you ask too many ships?

anyway, I'll add some icons tomorrow then enemy ships classes in the enemy overview, because if u thing it's confusing now, wait till you change galaxy and all the enemy changes :P

good question. ui desing is a bitch XD

what about: as long as i have enough spare support to order at least one of a kind, or i already have one of a kind, i can enter a number for that ship. if i put in a number higher then i can support, it gets rejected and reduced to the maxumum number i can support.

I got it working, and I must say that the experience is now vastly superior.

As for how to handle ship production, try using production capacity as a resource.  You can set a number of ships produced, as long as total maintenance doesn't exceep the production capacity cap.

   Trying to reduce my threat level from 13 I was unable to beat the 2x Corvettes, 3x Gunships and 3x fighters with any combination of ships I could field, until I sunk all production into fighters, 21 of them beat the enemy with two fighters still flying.  My fighters were level 25, though, while the rest of my ships were all under 5 - reduced my threat level to equal my sector count ( 8 ) with ever-quicker threat reduction battles after that.  (21 fighters don't display on the screen in a single column - 14 seems to be the max in one column with 3 of those behind UI buttons.)

     Spelling error - under the colony management screen; Fleet strenght
                          - when finding an artifact, several words without spaces between them.

Edit:                   - first purchase of robots does not seem to be 1, even though that is what is displayed.

thanks, fixed now.

about the fighters/corvette: I've made so that research has a larger impact on efficacy, but now higher tier ship are disadvantaged by their upgrade cost. it should probably increase faster by level, I'll see if I can find a different formula.

Yeah, not because I didn't like it but it was confusing to people. The interface is a mess already, the less special rules are hidden the better.

it's that graphic library it really doesn't like having stuff added and removed that fast. it's more for platformers with large, static level and a player navigating. can't say I'm willing to replace it tho :P

Hi,

It's actually fun and addictive. The issue is, for a coffee break game, i may need to drink 5-6 tea before i give up.

Not sure how the numbers work, not sure why sometimes y can build 9 fighters and 2 bombers, and next minute it drops to 9/1, nos ture why i sometime lose my 15 ships vs a low treat.

Not sure, but quite "fun".

Descriptions of ships don't seem to help for what they do.I'm guessing the left most of the ship list are good against small ships, the middle column is good against medium ships and the right side is good against large ships?

Also, very bad memory leak on the main screen.

The free ship seems to be back.

edit: and out again. Plus, ringworlds and the like are back to very costly, which is probably where they should be.
