Yamato had intended to get some warm-up exercises done, just in case a fight broke out. The rest hadn't gone in immediately like he'd hoped, but hey, he could deal. It was an opportunity to prepare.

Or at least that had been the intent, but then his stomach voiced its complaints, very loudly. Maybe not eating for several hours wasn't such a great idea...

Which was how he'd found himself in the nearest corner-store open, bought the cheapest energy bar available and was currently munching away at it happily right outside, with some canned tea in his other hand. A poor substitute for real food and real tea, maybe, but Yamato wasn't complaining. For now.

Main Group
A few minutes pass uneventfully. Nothing seems to come up. All is quiet on the hospital front. Too quiet. Your skin is probably crawling a little bit from just how quiet everythng seems to be. Some nurses come and go, along with some doctors, as the night shift staff begin to take over from the day shift. After all, it wasn't like a hospital closed down for the night, even in the face of the threat of imminent Zoanthrope attacks.

You do see an increased presence of Eden Foundation personnel as the night darkens, though. Now that the hospital's a target, they're redirecting resources to protect it, or so you hear. Then again, a organisation like Eden with staff all over Japan stopping Zoanthrope attacks must get relatively overstretched. Two in particular guard the main entrance to the hospital; not that two goons with helmets and guns could stop one of those Zoanthropes on their own, but at least people felt safer.

Then, you hear Lapis.
Do you see anything? I sense.....something. I can't quite get a read on it, but it seems like it's coming from...the back of the hospital. I can't tell exactly, but there's a huge chance it might be a Zoanthrope.

Wait.....no. I detect a second signature. It's one of the same Zoanthropes as you dealt with yesterday, away from the hospital. They're airborne, and two streets away. You're going to need to split up to deal with it, and quickly. Spica and I will deal with that one, the rest of you decide where you're going!

As Lapis warns them, the guards at the front suddenly start barking over comms and running towards presumably the back of the hospital. Things seem to be kicking off, but you're going to need to divide and conquer.

Meanwhile, with Ai and Yamato....
This mini-shop was, by all standards, absolutely and totally ordinary, stocking all the things anyone could need in one tiny package. It was a cheap shop, given it was in a student neighborhood, given that the shop wasn't far from the Medical University of Touto, to which Touto University Hospital was attached, the very same hospital you've decided to take a break from staking out. The clerk's a friendly enough guy; about Ai's age, looks a little familiar, pretty much average Japanese university student. If average university students wanted to take you aside for a moment and talk to you how the mole people were putting chemicals in the water to make more mole people.

So, on balance, probably not an average university student.

Instead, getting bored of this inane babbling, you walk outside. As for Yamato, you suddenly feel your sword start warning you of imminent danger. Very imminent danger.

And then a loud, piercing screech fills your ears from above.

A bat-like monster flies around in the sky above you, presumably one of the Zoanthropes the others fought last night. A mean-looking creature, its body seems like a bundle of lean muscle and steel tubing, what appears to be a jet engine sticking out of its back, covered in scales, fur and what-have-you.

So, on the Ai Kamijou Urgency Scale of "who cares" to "a minor annoyance", somewhere close to "annoying buzzing fly". On the Yamato Sato Urgency Scale, probably a little higher up.

Still, it's something better than listening to a guy whine about mole people all night.

Yamato pauses his munch'n'crunch to look up at the Zoanthrope with narrowed eyes. He finishes off the last bite of the energy bar, downs it with a now open can of tea, and sighs. The one that got away was back. At least he had someone here with him... Huh. This was probably a terrible idea.
"Ah, shit. Hey, Ai. You mind throwin' me up there?", he asks.

Ai had just been in the process of popping the cap off a bottle with her thumb - who needs bottle openers if you've got super strength - and raising the bottle to her lips when the Zoanthrope came swooping in like a bomber plane and Yamato asked her a question. For a answer, she simply nodded and took a step forwards before squatting down and knitting her hands togather as a make-shift step for Yamato's foot.

As soon as he'd stepped up and seemed relatively steady (foot in her hands, hand on her shoulder) Ai casually eyeballed the Zoanthrope - making up a rough trajectory - and launched the swordsman at the damn thing like a artillery round.

Launch Yamato at the Zoanthrope

One quick transformation later, Yamato stands on Ai's knitted hands, steadies himself and prepares for takeoff.

The wings were a priority target, so he'd just have to hope Ai aimed there.

Of course, there isn't as much time to think when Yamato gets blasted off into the sky with all the force of a cannonball. Almost there... Almost...

There!

Right as he is above one of the Draco's wings, Yamato cuts the force of his own movement and, with all the force and precision, he can muster, tries to cripple that bitch.

Then he realizes the flaw in this plan, and starts to fall.

All Things Can Be Cut, Willpoint Expended.

The alert was met by Ragnar quickly checking for people watching him before his armor shoots out to cover him. He started to jog to go deal with the zoanthrope at the back.
"Got it, I'll go deal with the zoanthrope at the back... Hey, what happened to Ai and Yamato?"

Haruko popped up at the distraction; it evidently hadn't taken her long to decide that they were going in, as she had already transformed. It'd be difficult for Maki and Amelie to not notice, given that they had a fair few more feathers slapping the back of their heads than they would have likely appreciated as she moved forward. "I wanna fight the one we went after yesterday!" She was already flapping her wings, trying to take off after the airborne Zoanthrope.

Zoanthrope Engaged
[Now Playing:~The cyborg fights~]
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)
So, Ai decides to use Yamato like a glorified baseball. You're pretty sure you've seen this in a comic book somewhere, but it's not like you have any other options; a bottlecap wouldn't get past the Zoanthrope's defenses, as far as you know, and you're not quite sure picking up a nearby car would in fact not cause undue damage to some poor guy's car or some poor student's house. So, you two figure, throwing Yamato at it would work. After all, it worked against the spider Zoanthrope, right?

If Ai was anything, she was an excellent thrower.

The dragon-bat thing tries to dodge the attack, but between Yamato being blasted right at it by a college student with the arms of a professional boxer and the force of a cannonball and the sheer speed of Yamato, it finds it a little difficult.

Yamato focuses for a moment. A decisive blow could end this fight as soon as it started. Aiming for the head was a bad idea; these creatures were once -were still- people. Decapitation was not an option. Neither was destroying its limbs; you didn't know if it'd grow them back upon transformation back to human form, but you didn't want to chance it. There was only one option; a single, crippling strike to the wing.

His blade cuts keenly, finely through muscle, sinew and metal like a hot knife through butter.

The wyvern lets out a horrific screech in response, Yamato's momentum leaving him unable to stop, as an unholy loud scream disorientates him, sending him flying onto a roof with the sheer force of the screech. But the damage is done; the creature, still in flight, is noticeably slower, struggling to flap its wings as some oily amber fluid leaks out of the wound Yamato left. The jet engine embedded in its back also seems to be in overdrive now that one of its wings is badly injured.

It still isn't defeated though, and it wants blood. Turning towards Yamato, it swoops towards him, seeking to take advantage of his stunned state, preparing to follow up its stunning screech first with scorching winds and then an assault with its claws.

Furthermore, it seems like the screech attracted enemies to the group, as you hear the sounds of nearby, frenzied flapping wings; potentially the smaller bats from yesterday. They'll be here soon, so it seems. Luckily- at least, from a certain point of view- you're joined by Haruko, flying in nearby, leaving the others back at the hospital to deal with whatever showed up.

Hm. If this was one of the ones from before... both of those were annoying bastards, this one seems to be flying. What a pain in the ass.

"I'm taking the new one."

Ito starts to run toward where the new signature was issuing from, pulling his sword from within the bag he usually carries on him as he goes.

"Zaruba, I want you to try to figure out these things' structure. They're at least partly magical, so we should be able to get something, but specifically I want you to find out if these things are full transformations or whether the main body is still in there somewhere."

"Hi, Ai! Hi, Yamato! Let's kick this thing's butt!" She hurtled in with most of the grace of a thrown boulder, her trajectory about thirty degrees off of perpendicular to the Zoanthrope. The bird girl was already toting an orb of plasma in one hand, an orb that swelled as soon as she tossed it in the general direction of the thing; fortunately, it seemed that she had enough sense to at least aim away from the hospital.

Ai, meanwhile, was being pretty leisurely about the whole thing. After she'd thrown Yamato she swept the contents of the bottle in one long go and then made sure to chuck the bottle into a nearby bin from where she was standing. No littering. That done she joined Yamato on the roof with a simple two-footed hop like so much double-dutch. "Hello Karasu." Came a fairly airy response to Haruko from an Ai now firmly planted between the Draco and Yamato. Feet wide apart like a ship captain. Except her hands were in her pockets and the air itself seemed to grow ominously heavy in a ever expanding area around her. Most ship captains don't do that. "Would you mind avoiding the buildings, please?"

[2 1 2 2 4 3 4 3 4 6]

Ai is referring to Haruko with the standard 'Karasu-san' and using the out-dated form of 'would you mind'  or 'could you please'  for asking for a favor. 'moraemasu ka'

Yamato had just gotten slammed into a roof, and his head was still ringing from that screech. He was not in any condition to do... much of anything, really, except try to recover and stay firmly out of the big dragon-bat's way. So he does exactly that, relying on his sword to navigate the roof. And Haruko was here now. Fun.
"Heeeeey, Sun Crow. I'm... gonna need a minute. Try to keep the buildings around."
Just keep steady, Yamato. Just keep steady.

Kiyo was more than a little annoyed at everyone rushing off without a plan but none of that shows on her face. Her armour appears on her in a blink of an eye, microjets already warmed up and operational. With Haruko flying off to the other Zoanthrope, Kiyo moves to deal with the Zoanthrope in the back, cautiously swooping around to get a clear sight-line while staying out of range.

Turn 2, Draco Zoanthrope Group
[Now Playing: ~The cyborg fights~]
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)
Ai realises that she's not in the best position, even with her imposing aura; whatever magic drove her, it wasn't quite strong enough to reach the flying creature in midair. Yet. Good things come to those who wait, and Ai was perfectly content to wait for the moment; in her case, wait between the Zoanthrope and Yamato, currently stumbling around the roof trying to avoid the Zoanthrope's attack.

A blast of searing hot plasma soars right over Ai's head, somehow avoiding searing her head, as Haruko appears from behind, Amelie not far behind. The miniature star expands as it flies, the Zoanthrope swerving to avoid the blast; its crippled wing, however, slows it down. Even with the harsh winds around it seeming to lessen the effect of Haruko's attack, it still manages to sear its underside, causing it to project a massive screech of pain.

However, pain and damage do not consist of inertia. The creature was already flying rather quickly, and with neither Ai nor Haruko managing to put any serious impediment in its path, flying through the pain, though undesirable, was very much possible.

Haruko's attack doesn't quite stop it from assailing Yamato, currently too sluggish to quite avoid the attack, as it swoops past Ai and exhales a harsh, scorching burst of wind hot enough to set anything aflame, searing Yamato's clothes and singing him. Before he can quite recover, two claws rake themselves across his chest, the claws seeming quite a fair bit less keen as the air seems to grow heavier around them, but not enough to blunt the blow, not enough to save him. Still, he manages to recover himself, the pain of the attack shocking him back up. The winds around it seem to blow faster and harsher as it retreats away, making a U-turn, its course taking it directly towards Haruko. The air around it seems to glow with intense heat.

As Amelie makes her arrival on the battlefield, from the opposite end, three swarms of those same smaller, bat-like cyborg creatures appear, swooping in to intercept Amelie before she joins the fight; possibly to harry her, or at least to keep her away from the main fight while the larger Zoanthrope handles the others. After all, power in numbers applies both ways.
Spoiler: Status (click to show/hide)

Hospital Group
"Alright, let's get a move on!"
Maki nods as Amelie and Haruko leave to deal with the other Zoanthrope, leaving her, Ito, Ragnar and Kiyo to deal with whatever was happening at the back of the hospital.

As they swoop around to deal with it, Kiyo is the first one to lay eyes on what's going on.

The back of the hospital's already a miniature warzone. Two of the Eden Foundation troopers are lying at the base of the wall, their limbs bent in unnatural positions as they scream for a medic. Four others have set up a barricade using a car nearby, popping up and shooting at the Zoanthrope, their bullets doing absolutely nothing as the Zoanthrope runs directly at them, all eight of its eyes red and glinting with malicious intent.

For the Zoanthrope here is the spider-like creature you fought yesterday. Instantly, you know this can't mean anything good; perhaps whoever is behind the Zoanthropes can make more of the same ones, like a production line. You know this isn't the same one you detained yesterday; otherwise Spica and Lapis would've told you about it already.

Regardless, this is your task; dispatch the Zoanthrope before it hurts even more people.

As for Ito, Zaruba isn't able to tell you much; something about the hospital, whatever it is, is disrupting the Madou Ring's ability to sense things, as easily as it seems to be doing to Lapis. One thing is clear though; there isn't a human to be cut out of the Zoanthrope. If you intend to save the person within this creature, you're going to have to do it the hard way.
