At this point, Hideyuki had returned from getting the unconscious maybe-monster somewhere comfortable, checking in on them before going to prepare food.

"You wanted steak, right? Is that fine with everyone else?"

For the most part, the house itself wasn't magical other than some minor wards against tracking and a few conditional ones against... something. There were a few magical items about, but they were generally stored in locked cases rather than just left out in the open.

"No, he just thinks you're an idiot. Also.....name's Maki Kisaragi, student by day, and the illustrious Kamen Rider Volt by night."
As Hideyuki enters, Maki stares over at him.
"Uh, well, sure, if you're cooking. Thanks for letting us crash here a while."

She glanced over at Amelie when the girl sat down next to her. "Is Bacrow what they call me. . .?"

Amelie shook her head. "I don't think so? Usually I hear things like 'sun crow'." As Hideyuki returned, she nodded. "If you're making some anyway it's fine with me! I'm a bit hungry too, come to think of it..."

"But he said it was for 'bang,' like an explosion." Her head lolled over to face Hideyuki as he reentered the room. "Yeah, steak is good. . . Did I forget to tell you my name again?"

"Bacrow, Haruko. Think about it. What does that sound like to you?"

Yamato gives Hideyuki a quick glance before giving his own introduction.
"Sato Yamato here. I don't think the media has any specific name for me, but I could be wrong. And yeah, sure. Steak is fine."

"But he said it wasn't that."

"He's lying."

Woah. An emotion. Not a particularly nice one, but an emotion.

"If I say something, I mean it."

"Well, DID you call her an idiot?"

"Is she one? Sounds like you're rather fixated on it."

Haruko didn't say anything, but looked increasingly like a kicked puppy as the back-and-forth continued.

A moment passes. Maki shrugs.
"Can't argue with that. Still, she's my idiot, so I'd appreciate if you didn't insult her. Too much."

Amelie doesn't comment, but puts an arm around the emotionally-wounded crow.

"I see. I prefer the other side of it. She has power. Unrefined, uncontrolled power, but power. The rest will come. Why would  insult that?"
