Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

Actually, let us go for a cannon, while a train would be a grand idea it seems artillery is more useful right now.

Is the plan to revise our existing sail ship to be larger and have armor and carry this cannon?

The plan's currently to revise armor-piercing shells so we can reliably pierce any ship they can make in the forseeable future, unless they suddenly get screw-propeller steam turbine driven ironclads with insane armor.

The Asennu, as is, would become the bane of the enemy's existence given it's armament. I should honestly draw up what the Asennu looks like, so you have a vague idea of how many guns it'd have and where the weak spots should be, at least in my head and given the battle reports. The artillery helps everywhere, and while logistics are nice, it won't mean anything when they cut us off from the mountains due to us not being able to dent their monstrosities.

Why would we not have smokeless powder for cannon? And cannon includes rifling.

I'm a sucker for trains.  There's a good possibility this will boost our resources, the experience in steam engines would allow us to build a better ship, there's the possibility of replicating that Arstotzkan steam tank[/i], and we get to see if having better logistics infrastructure would have an effect on our armies besides the resource boost.

The smokeless powder is new and changeing to it will make our cannons have more range.

Our cannons need to be built to resist the pressure of the propellant, we'd likely need a new design to get the barrels needed to do that. And improving our artillery is an excellent use of our design action.

No we could just try makeing it extra strong, double up the something.
A rail tank will shock them and be uncounterd where as better artillary is something we can both expect to face.

Doubling up on thew material will make the weight of the gun untenable. And a rail tank requires a railway line to be of any use; no railway, no tank. And I highly doubt we can build the tracks that quickly.

So, how to explain this...We managed to get the shells right, and the cannon to an extent, however, whenever fired it tends to get...stuck. We managed to find out far to late that our little oil and air plan failed as the air commonly escaped as the tube tends to get damaged and then becomes useless. There is also the issue of the shells not going off properly, leading to it getting stuck in the barrel, or sometimes even exploding in the barrel, luckily when this happens, it only damages the inside of the barrel and doesn't kill everyone nearby. Regardless, we are quite sure that this would be a very very useful cannon and a revolution in artillery if it actually worked to its full potential. For now, its unreliable and prone to braking, making it mostly useless for the moment and its very complex. Cost 4 ore Very complex -Very Expensive

It is now the Revision Phase, Neferu is surprised, but still believes strongly in you.
