I present to the Gods and the Pharaoh my offerings for the flag contest. Hopefully they are appeased by my contributions.



A detailed national banner, representing our flag. The text to the sides reads our "Long live the pharaoh", from the right to the left and from top to bottom.

Gold here represents the indestructibleness of the Nafuni, the disc of the Sun and the divine origin of the Pharaoh, as well as the Golden land we first saw upon settling this place. Green in the details represents life. The different shades of blue signify the sea, by which we had arrived here, as well as the ingenuity and perseverance of our people.



A simplified flag we can mass produce for our armies,  with green thrown out of the mix and only keeping the Ankh, and...

Pirate has made statements that indicates that he considers the flintlock to be something that would be Hard in difficulty.  I think a breechblock in addition to that may be a bit too much of a leap that would cause the difficulty to reach Very Hard or Impossible.  That's a roughly 2/6 or 1/6 of actually getting something good, not particularly good odds.  Especially with it seeming we are waiting for the other shoe to drop with the current string of luck we've had.

Anhur Model 1 Flintlock Rifle
A rifle named after the God of War and Sky Bearer, Anhur.  It is chambered in the same .60 caliber of the Thoth Mk.1 rifle so existing ammunition is able to be utilized, and switches out the matchlock firing mechanism with a flintlock mechanism.  This changeover in firing mechanism removes the requirement to utilize a lit wick that is able to be blown out, allowing for the use of the rifle by our cavalry, in weather such as rain or mist, in swamp and other biomes, and in other similar situations with greater reliability than the matchlock system.  The rifle is designed to fit the same bayonets as the Thoth Mk. 1 Matchlock Rifles.  The wings that were added to the production model Thoth were modified in shape to form an equivalent to Iron Sights allowing for more accurate firing at range.  Sights made for sufficiently high ranking officers can be more accurately termed 'Gold Sights' due to their construction being of gold rather than iron.

Reseph Neithhotep Series 1 Sparkrifle
The gun is named after the first female regent in ancient Egypt and it's creator. The rifle's inventor, Reseph Seti-nekht created the Series 1 Sparkrifle as a rifled .60 calibre weapon firing the same ammo as the Thoth, but it is notably different from the Thoth matchlock rifle in it's firing mechanism - dubbed the spark-fire mechanism as it operates by using a piece of flint held in a clamp at the end of a short spring-loaded hammer and striking an elongated piece of steel covering the pan, called the frizzen, pushing it back, exposing the pan which contains the gunpowder. The strike creates sparks which ignite the gunpowder, causing the weapon to fire. Because it's covered by the frizzen, the gunpowder is much easier to keep dry even in rainy conditions compared to the Thoth. It features a thimble for the ramrod, iron sights in the form of wings modified from the Thoth to form an equivalent to Iron Sights allowing for more accurate firing at range (made out of gold for our officers), a coil spring lock for the lock plate for reliability, a leather strap, a leather strap that additionally protects the pan and frizzen from humid conditions and a double-set trigger. The double-set trigger is a secondary, miniature action, which when cocked by pulling the rear trigger transforms the front trigger to a hair trigger. When the front trigger is pulled, a spring powers a miniature hammer, multiplying the force of the actual trigger pull, allowing a very light touch to accomplish the release of the main sear.  While the front trigger is always at the ready, if one has the time, using the set trigger feature may allow for a more accurate long-distance shot because now the trigger requires a much lighter touch to fire off the rifle. To use this feature, the rear trigger must be pulled consciously just prior to taking the shot (It would be dangerous to walk with a loaded rifle having such a sensitive trigger as standard). The rifle has a small setscrew used to adjust the weight of pull required, so that shooters can calibrate their rifles to their habits, allowing them to take much more accurate shots. It keeps the Thoth's bayonet and uses the same paper cartridges, allowing infantrymen to continue easily carrying ammo for either rifle.

Reseph Neithhotep Series 1 Sparkrifle: Once again our great minds have proven their worth and have produced the Reseph Neithhotep Series 1 Sparkrifle. It is a bit of a mouthful, and is usually referred to as the RNS1 or Sparkrifle for short. It has a Spark-fire Mechanism, (which every one outside of Nafuna calls a flintlock, or so we have been told) where a peace of flint strikes a frizzen to create sparks to set off the gunpowder in the pan. This makes the weapon able to be used on chariots along with in humid and rainy environments most of the time, although the pan needs to be cleaned out in such situations to keep it try and keep it firing. Along with this, long ropes no longer needing to be carried by the users of the rifle. It also includes gold sights to help with aiming along with an adjustable double trigger for firing, among other minor improvements. The rifle seems to be a bit more accurate then our original Thoth as well, most likely due to the gold sights and other improvements. It is still complex however, due to the rifling being a time consuming process that can only be done by our skilled smiths. Costs 1 ore 1 wood -Complex, Expensive
