Tauret Mobile Artillery Piece

This otherwise standard Tauret Field Artillery is mounted on wheels and pulled by a scaled up heavy duty Tos-Mori Truck.  The truck has room for ammunition and is very lightly armored against indirect shrapnel and small arms fire.  Both vehicles are designed to have tires and suspension that work on uneven ground and swamps.

This should allow us to redeploy our artillery rapidly both on advance and retreat and prevent the enemy from easily targeting them.

The design team did not just grab scale models of the Tauret and the Tos-Mori and jam them together with glue.

Ground Tauret already has wheels on it's carriage. Basically what you are asking for here is a frontline truck. What we can do is revision our own truck from the Tos Mori using our more powerful engine (the 65 hp V8 in our armored car or the 210 hp V8 from the Aseskara) and get a frontline softbed. What you seem to be going for is a metal truck, without a roof, reminiscent of engineering cars in WW1 and WW2. I think a properly named softbed would serve us better. Also note that uniform revision is something I'd vote for, even if you dropped the pistol or the grenade (but not both), or a revision to make our HE charges much more powerful by volume by using hexogen charges.

Edit: Will write up a truck when I get home.

Edit 2: I propose the following;

Marthad Mark II T2GPT/MSB-03V8 General Purpose Truck (General Purpose Truck / Medium-capacity Soft Bed)
Following experience in engine manufacturing and the construction of internal combustion engine powered vehicles, the Marthad is Nafuna's first domestically built general purpose truck, meant to serve roles ranging from being an artillery tractor to ferrying ammo or soldiers around the front lines or behind them. To this end, the truck marks an improvement over the Tos Mori on which Nafuna's vehicle industry had been based off, featuring a 95 horsepower Mark II T2GPT-03V8 engine, which in itself is a modification of the Mark I W1AMC-02V8 powering the Kadesh armored car using the experience in making the 210 hp Mark II W1GPM-03V8 engine, a set of limited-slip differentials for it's 6x4 drive setup offering great offroad performance and 4 gear transmission allowing for more control over the speed of the vehicle and engine output, vulcanized rubber tyres and drum breaks for a smoother ride and more responsive controls, and an enclosed cab ahead of the softbed cargo area for both defense, despite the vehicle only sporting thin armor for this area voiding the light armor front and a back plate. As it's meant to be the workhorse of the Nafuni Royal Army, this vehicle is set to have a capacity of 10,500 lb and a curb weight of around 14,800 lb. It sports high ground clearance due to it's strong axles, further aiding it's offroad capabilities, and it's 4-wheel drive allows the rear wheels to track the front wheels around turns, such that the rear wheels don't have to dig new "ruts" on muddy curves - allowing the Marthad to traverse soft or muddy conditions with unprecedented effectiveness.

Edit 3: Including Taricus' uniform overhaul proposal and adding a votebox.

1903 Royal Army Uniform + Model 1903 Grenade + Model 1903 Handgun (1903 Royal Army Overhaul)
Intended to enhance the performance of our troops in a myriad of minor ways, the 1902 goes beyond the flashy uniforms of the last century. Out goes the brightly coloured ornate uniforms, and in with plain-colour uniforms in theatre specific drab colours. The uniform is also updated, the helmet being made out of molybdenum steel that resemble coal scuttles (Effectively, a stahlhelm) to protect against artillery shrapnel and with the tunic of the uniform being outfitted with loop & pockets ideally suited for carrying magazines for our current main arms in service, massively increasing the amount of ammo a soldier can easily carry for their weapon. Additional tools & bags are also produced, to allow a soldier to more comfortably carry a couple of days rations, entrenching tools for our engineering battalions more more easily dig in and a combat knife to ensure our troops always have something to kill the enemy with; being a 6 inch, single edge blade that's broad enough to both cut and stab, and a small handguard to keep the user's hand from slipping down the knife.

Additionally, using the extra time afforded to them, our designers have come up with a couple of weapons to make our troops assaults more effective. The 1903 grenade is a simple explosive device that's meant to be lobbed into an enemy trench or position. The high explosive top of the device is covered in a simple steel shell and mounted on a wooden handle, the timed fuze of the grenade being activated by a cord that runs through the handle and and terminates in a ring which the use pulls to activate the device. The fuze operates on a timer, detonating four seconds after the cord is pulled.

Finally, to round out our arsenal, the Model 1903 Handgun. Designed as a sidearm assigned to our officers and rear-line personnel the M1903 uses the same .286 Cheops round as our SMG, in a 14-round double stack magazine that uses a blowback mechanism for re-chambering the next round. A short, relatively concealable & easy to use sidearm.

I'm voting for both this and the truck, since I'm fine with either option.

I do not like including so many things in one design for the uniforms, I would rather we focus on the first part of the revision for the uniforms if we are going to do that.

That said the truck is fine and can be a good gateway to more specialized combat vehicles.

Hard 5
Marthad Mark II T2GPT/MSB-03V8 General Purpose Truck:
The Marthad is a simple and efficient truck made for carrying things, be it men or just materials and supplies. It is effecent and fast, even off road and its able to get out of mud decently, meaning it can be used in locations it wouldn't otherwise be able to go, although we suspect it still won't far well in transporting things in the swamps, it will actually be able to do so unlike everything else. The driver can also easily control the trucks speed which will also help it in other locations where we normally wouldn't be able to use such a truck. Its not the fastest car in the world though, yet it is close. Costs 2 ore, 2 oil, Cheap. Gives 2 TC

It is now the Battle Phase, Neferu is happy with your work, and considers your efforts crucial to the war.

I'm unsure of whether we should push the Hills or the Ruins, so I'll vote for both. The Ruins offer us a testing bed for our Zeppelins seeing as they offer a lot of potential for both testing out our bombing capabilities, as well as oversea logistics voiding the sea itself. Additionally, kicking them off the island would make it much harder for them to regain it. Then again - taking the hills decisively would place us much closer to their capital, as well as negating the resources there for the foreseeable future.

Battle Report 14, 1903
This year is a great one, we have made the greatest weapon that flies high in the sky, the best flying weapon on the world. The Aseskara-Class Aeroredoubt AD0X ssh.I, a zeppelin that is armored and armed, although it was made larger then we originally wanted due to helium not actually keeping the thing in the air as well as hydrogen, although its safer and that more then pays for the extra costs. It should be noted Amunet Serq payed a lot of money for the design, its suspected she is planning on expanding her transport business and designing something else with it, it also should be noted a German count named Ferdinand seemed to be very interested in our work as well. Despite the extreme innovation that was made in the Aseskara, we wheren't done yet and made the Marthad Mark II T2GPT/MSB-03V8 General Purpose Truck! Made using our experience with engines and what we learned from the armored chariot we worked on. Its a hardy off road truck that can bring supplies and troops to the front without the need of rails, and cuts down time a bit easier as well.

The Invaders from the north, meanwhile, worked on something known as the Duuguur 8cm mortar, which is basically a miniature two man artillery to be more effective then their normal artillery, which usually reduced into smoldering craters most of the time by our own, longer range artillery. Still, due to its highly mobile nature, its not exactly something our own artillery can counter, but our men know how to take them out easily enough by just shooting the one who is using the thing. They also decided that they don't like our armored chariots, and made the Suirel Anti-Armor Rifle, which also works as a high powered long range sniper rifle. It is able to punch through the armour of our chariots, although it is only single shot it is quite mobile, due to being able to be strapped onto the sidecar in place of a machine gun on one of those bikes the Kari's love so much...

Battle Report, Naval Combat: The introduction of Airships has changed some things about combat in the sea. As it turns out, our bombs are quite hard hitting and will disable if not sink one of the ships the Kari's have. In fact, we believe their captains are actually afraid of our airships, seeing how a few months after operations started, their ships seem to start going at full speed away from us and even tried firing their main guns at our Aseskara's. Operations at sea for our combat airships are usually just to simply fly over the enemy ship, go at their speed, and then simply drop the bombs on the target before flying off to the next ship or resupply. It should be noted our estimations make us believe it will be able to sink two to three of their ships if the bombs are dropped accurately. Some times, they are assigned to fly with our main ships where they are very useful in protection, just due to their fear value, and the cargo versions are useful in supplying our soldiers. Despite this however, the Karikhitans still have a advantage at sea, although there aren't enough airships to reduce it to minor.

Battle Report, Mountains. Attackers, Karikhita: The new miniature artillery peace known as the Duuguur is quite efferent at what it does, especially when that thing happens to be causing avalanches to crush our soldiers. The majority of the soldiers manning this front where battle hardened veterans for their years of fighting here and pushing the Karikhitan's back, but the fighting this year made most of the spots they once filled replaced with new soldiers from back home. Our soldiers where forced in a hard fight from this, especially the ones manning the revolver repeater machineguns or the Sekhmets who had to abandon their guns or where crushed. Our men with rifles had a easier time in comparison, although easy is a bit of a stretch since while they still had the ability to shoot, they had to dodge rockfall after rockfall caused by Karikhitan Duuguur. Still, in a straight up firefight, our men fared better, sans the aforementioned mortar. It should be noted however that the Karikhitans actually used their anti tank rifles against our soldiers at times, usually at very long range, and that despite the sounds of it, we didn't actually lose the fight here, but we almost did. Luckily, while a major force of ours was retreating and in disarray, the Karikhitans perused only to be stopped thanks to an airship, which dropped bombs and buried their force in rubble like they had been doing to us for the past few months. This gave our soldiers time to regroup and strike back against the attacking force which had its spearhead broken, due to this we where able to fight back the Karikhitans with help from two other airships, and quite simply, we grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat.[Nafuna 4/4, Karikhita 0/4]

Battle Report, Hills. Attackers, Nafuna: The battle here proves to be a true meatgrinder for our soldiers and theirs. Our artillery is still soundly smashing them to bits, but their new mortar is helping pick up where the Kari's lack in big guns, and its no less deadly then any of their old indirect fire weapons when they hit inside a trench. Our armored chariots also suffer, not only due to them having the occasional mortar hit damage them, but due to the anti armor rifle the Karikhitan's produced which is able to reliably punch through are armor and damage the engine or knock out the crew before getting away due to being mounted on the Karikhitan's bikes. Still, the truck we made allows soldiers to reach the front in greater numbers then ever before allowing us to fill in gaps in the lines quickly and efficiently before the Karikhitians are able to regroup and attack where we are weakest. Our airships do help in major battles, especially against stationary targets and soldiers without bikes, acting as a somewhat more accurate artillery, but they aren't too much help overall on the front line here due to the limited numbers, however that's not to say they aren't good when moved past the line. They are able to delay or destroy groups of Karikhitans that aren't on the move along with any convoy of trucks fairly reliably, this is mostly due to the amount of bombs the airship has, and it can get close to the ground and unleash its firepower on the ground if the captain wants to get up close and personal. It should be noted the few times that this has happened, the ship has returned with minor damage thanks to the anti tank rifle, occasionally this minor damage is not so minor as the ship suffers heavily from the loss of helium due to its weight but the fire used against it isn't enough to take it down yet. It would probably not suffer from this issue if we used hydrogen but that probably wouldn't be much better... Still, after a harsh battle, we find we are unable to break the Karikhitan's lines, leading to a stalemate once more. [Nafuna 0/4, Karikhita 4/4]

Battle Report, Swamps. Attackers, Nafuna, Karikhita: As one might expect, things don't go very well for us here. We barely pushed them back last time, however, that doesn't mean we can't hold them back, in fact the generals didn't really order our soldiers to advance much, knowing this would be more of a defensive fight then anything else. Moving on, their mortar is used here like everywhere else, and it is a bane to our troops, especially when you have an easier time finding the mortar then you do the men, who occasionally leave the things out as traps for our soldiers, which worked the first couple of times until we turned it around on them. Our truck is useful here as one would expect, as its able to transport troops through some of the swamp, but the particularly muddy bits of this place are able to entrap the truck like anything else heavy. The airships, meanwhile, didn't do much at all here due to the camouflage they have and how thick the foliage here is compared to everywhere else we are fighting and where quickly moved elsewhere. Our guns however, especially our PMG, still are better then their own, and the second we actually spot them they generally start running for good reason, but the issue is actually finding them, and with that mortar, well, it makes a big difference. Sadly, for the Karikhitans, our guns are just enough to prevent them from actually pushing us out, sadly for us, they do a superb job in stopping us from advancing, not that they really had to try too hard to do so as we barely held the line. [Nafuna 1/4, Karikhita 3/4]

Outside world and Internal affairs: The way to fully industrializing has become closer and closer, almost within reach, and the new transportation available to all has allowed the expansion of the mines in the Savannah to be mined out, and Amunet has expanded her business a bit too. In other news, the first regular transatlantic radio broadcast between US & England happens early in the year. The Sokoto Caliphate in northern Nigeria falls and the British claim supremacy of over five hundred thousand square miles. Richard Pearse flies a monoplane several hundred yards in New Zealand. King Edward VII of Great Britain visits Paris, where he is feted in a first step toward improving Anglo-French relations. Ford Motors under Henry Ford incorporates and the Pepsi Cola company forms. The first Tour de France race is won by Maurice Garin of France. The Japanese Minister to Russia presents a note to the Russian Government protesting against its failure to evacuate Manchuria and later, Russia, in violation of their promise to evacuate Manchuria, reoccupies Mukden and reinforce their troops in Manchuria. And the Wright Brothers make the first sustained motorized aircraft flight, piloted by Orville Wright at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

1904 Royal Army Uniform + Model 1904 Grenade + Model 1904 Handgun (1904 Royal Army Overhaul)

Our airship has been underestimated because of it's cost, apprently, but that shouldn't be a problem next turn seeing as we'd be getting more materials to make up for it and bring it down to Expensive. Apparently their uniforms are the one thing massively aiding them, and would make us less of an obvious target to their mortar crews. For our revision, we'll most likely upgrade the Kadesh with vulcanized tyres, the steering system on the truck, a new engine and more armor, making it a respectable armored vehicle. Next turn we could go with the Wadjet, or with actual aircraft / telegraph, since I think the Khants will be freaking out over our airship. Thoughts?

Edit: Another option might be going for a breakthrough vehicle, like a proper tank, but I think our uniforms are hurting us most in the swamp and making it easy for their mortars to mess around with our troops.

Very Hard 6
1904 Royal Army Overhaul:
The 1904 Royal Army Overhaul is exactly what it says on the tin, just like our last overhaul, the main difference being it has a lot of extra bits and bobs along with it. The Model 1904 Grenade is useful as a bomb on a stick to toss at enemies and deal with enemies in entrenched positions much easier then ever before, and the model 1904 Handgun is a nice semi automatic pistol for our officers that is fast firing and fairly accurate. The new uniforms allow much better places for ammo then the old design which was just shove clips in the bag wherever you could and instead allows quicker and easier retrieval of ammo to load the guns with, and it can be used to carry ammo for big guns easier as well. The helmet is better made then the old one and makes our men better protected from shrapnel and the ability to have a combat knife, or any knife really, and a shovel is quite useful for our soldiers in areas that need a bit more survival gear then normal. It should be noted that a few officers are now wielding both the 1904 handgun and the good old Khopesh at the same time, which is quite an inspiring sight.

It is now the Revision Phase, The Pharaoh has given you all gifts for your continued good work.
