The Descent is a rather unforgiving dungeon, but don't think you're the first to attempt it. Many wayward souls plunge into the maw, hoping to find some great treasure at its greatest depths. You've never heard of anyone returning with such a bounty. Sometimes people ascend with a series of injuries or a sober attitude towards future adventuring, if they return at all. Standing atop the deceptively mundane steps downwards, you feel yourself seized by a contemplative mood...

This is the first attempt. Who is descending today?

When it comes to dungeon delving, those driven to scour the depths are often motivated by self-serving goals. Much of the time, that means gold, treasure, magical power, or simple bloodlust. Few, though, are equally bold as they are desperate, but it could be said that hunger is the basest and most 'selfish' desire there is. And so we have...

Benbali of Palewheat, Peasant


A small shiver runs down Ben's spine as she enters the first room of the Depths.

All things considered, the first floor is rather underwhelming, even a bit cozy. The far door beckons with a bold 'WELCOME' printed above, perhaps opening into the dungeon proper. In this antechamber, Benbali spots a ratman behind a desk, and a block of stone with foreign writing on one side. The ratman gives no indication of having noticed Ben, maintaining a lack posture, eyes unfocused, as suits his menial species. A simple bell sits on the desk, waiting to be jingled, presumably.

The stone block seems out of place, as if someone dragged it here from another land. The writing is possibly magical in nature, but that's nothing Ben would know about.
