CGs are the fully drawn splash screens where the characters and background aren't two separate elements put together. For example, any of the dead body screens.

So... I tried option three. I moved her .chr file out of the game and opened it up half expecting a jumpscare.

It didn't do anything, even when I started a new game.

First, I'm gonna answer that question next time I play. I'll probably say yes because I'm too scared to say no to that psycho.
Second, I think I finally get Monika. When she realized that she is in a game, she got hit by an existential H-bomb because she realized that her friends don't really matter in the grand scheme of things. She only knows of one thing that matters: Me, the player, the strange new force in their world. And she wants to get me alone so she can talk. Which is kind of horrifying if you think about it.
Third, when writing a poem, something weird happened. And this is quite possibly the most important one. I chose the word 'heart' and I saw a little chibi Monika jumping up and down at the corner of the screen. This can only mean one thing. There are several words that can get an encounter with Monika instead. So, if anyone sees this as well, tell me the word you picked. This is important. I'll show the list publicly if a bunch of other people found some words.

lparchive.org has a screenshare let'splay of DDLC, for anyone who would like the experience a little more second-handedly. I've already read the spoilers, but the LP should be impactful enough, given how the one for OFF kind of bowled me over.

Honestly I'm not sure why I'm not just watching GTlive play this game, which I know they're doing. I think this game just earned my special attention.

I mean, it's what I do for every other horror game that interests me...

As a game who's main gimmick is breaking the fourth wall, do you really think you'd be able to experience it properly if you were hiding behind a fifth one? Also, I think spending quality time with the girls would not have been as special if you had several people watching over you. And I haven't even gotten into the impact commentary would have had on your experience. Just imagine that scene where Sayori tells you about her depression, and then imagine it with some guy constantly cracking jokes in the background.

There is more I can say about why watching an LP would be a bad idea, but I don't want this to become a bigger incoherent rant than it already is.

I did actually. I kept trying to find more words that she liked, but I failed and ended up choosing Yuri instead of Natsuki.

Turns out it's completely random. Each time you pick a word, there's a very small chance that Monika will like it.
