Couldn't we use a rope/something both long and tough as a tether, or put magnets in the boots?

This is exactly the kind of game that interests me.

+1 to building an airlock as first action.

+1 to building a spacesuit as second action.

Third action would be to use airlock & spacesuit to build & install engine on stasis pod.

WAAAAIIIIIIIT!!!!!

Plan first, actions LATER. First off: Are we wearing a space-tight suit? Second, what happens if we just spend the forty metal to fix the hibernation device? (These will hopefully not take an action to answer)

We do NOT want to burn all our metals on pipe dreams right now. We can't do anything until we know a bit more.

One:
Let's start with some Research: Call up diagrams for the Hibernation Module, a spacesuit, some form of airlock (It'd be useful), a TRANSMISSION DEVICE (This is how we're getting clear of this place, NOT through the use of an engine when we don't know where to go), an air RECYCLER, and search up a "water recycling system", as well as a "food synthesizer" or any other advanced food-creation methods you can imagine. Oh, and look up a weapon of some sort. Just in case.

Two:
Build the spacesuit (As voted above) and put it on.

Three:
Attempt to use the PDA to locate where we are, program it to search for location matches using star charts if necessary.

That's actually a good idea, yeah. Can we fix the pod?

Yes, it's in a spoiler on the turn.

Hey, guys, what exactly is your thruster going to use for reaction mass? We don't have any O2 and H2 to spare.

Day 3: You spend some time researching how to build a spacesuit. You luck out and find a good schematic that you can put together fairly fast. It only costs you 30 metal, and allows you to venture out into space! This will help a lot in the coming modifications you make to the ship.

It makes sense to focus on propulsion second. Researching and building an airlock was remarkably easy compared to other pieces of technology. It went so fast that building it and researching it only took a few hours. You create an airlock on the back of the ship, moving the stasis pod forward. You wonder whether or not you should break it down now, but decide that building the engine would be more important.

You go ahead and construct a tiny engine. Its not a whole lot to look at, and it is fairly slow, but it will allow you to move your ship around. It uses 5 power a day. You place it in your new airlock, close the interior door, and then open the exterior door. This costs you a whole day's oxygen! However it seems like it will be worth it, already it seems as though you've stumbled across something, just have to figure out how to get it.

You examine your clothes, you're wearing a single piece insulated jumpsuit. Its all black, and moderately comfortable. And your brand new metal spacesuit.

Well crap. Really, really crap. Super-duper CRAP. We just burned a bunch of O2...on opening a door. I was afraid of that. Nothing to do now but

Look up plans for a rope (Using metal, hopefully. If not we're going to have to do some EXTREME modifications) and build it, WITHOUT going back inside. Turn off the engine while we're at it.

Fetch the thingy, whatever it is (By anchoring the rope inside the spacecraft) and then use your PDA to analyze the stars around you (If possible) to determine a location.

Seal outer spacecraft door, open the inner one, and examine the object with the PDA. THOROUGHLY.

we could use a better airlock, that sucks air out before opening outsidedoor

Look up an airlock cycling system, that drains oxygen and recycles it back into the ship. Get the box, though.

Get some rope and get the floatyboxthing.

Please check my suggested actions, guys---we need to be certain we don't burn even MORE oxygen on this.

All we really need is an air pump, right? It would just take a while to clear the airlock and open the door.

Build an air pump and set it up to move air out of the airlock and into the rest of the ship.

Day 4: Yesterday you stumbled across a bit of debris floating in space, and you knew you had to bring it aboard. You spend a while researching how to make metal cable, and manage to craft yourself a decent length of it.

However, you can't just let the your precious oxygen out every time you need to get to the ship exterior or redirect the engines. So you spend time researching and constructing an air pump to pump air in and out of the airlock. It's a slow process, but it takes little power and metal to get it up and running.

Finally using your metal cable as a tether, you go out and retrieve the debris. Its a container of some sort. You begin scanning it with your PDA and find out that its a data unit! It has several schematics on it, and a cache of busted up metal, likely part of whatever the thing was attached to. If you had to guess, it belonged to some sort of mining ship.
