Appearance: Hideyuki's black hair is cut short around the front of his face, but grows longer on the back, feathering out to its end just above the middle of his neck. Dark grey eyes are almost constantly focused on something or another, watching for signs of anything amiss. His body in general is well-built, but not bulky, the body of a serious athlete, not a bodybuilder or professional strongman. He's never seen without some kind of long bag or another, in which to store important devices and tools, and prefers longer coats, the better to hide his blade when he must wear it openly.
Personality: Hideyuki is polite, serious, and determined, spending many hours each day practicing his combat skills so as to better hunt the enemies that threaten the cities he is sworn to watch over. Originally, this meant only the Horrors that fed on men's darkest desires, but recently, with the rise of... other creatures, he has found himself having to fight more and more with these unnatural creatures.
Background: Hideyuki entered into the care of the Makai Knight that came before him at a very young age, his parents killed in a horror attack that left him without any family. In his formative years, he trained night and day in order to grow stronger, seeking to become strong enough not only to avenge his own family, but to be able to make sure that noone else would have to suffer the same pain he had felt at his own loss. When his predecessor, a man he saw as a second father and whose name he still proudly bears today, Hideyuki took up his sword and the armor that came with it, proving once and for all that he had both the will and the strength to bear the weight of his duty.
Advantage: The Golden Armor of the Makai knight is a great deal stronger than most other transformations, often granting sufficient strength to slay lesser horros with minimal effort on the part of the wearer, amplifying their existing abilities to unbelievable levels when equipped. Uniquely, however, Makai Knight armor is much more strenuous on the wearer than even the most harrowing of normal transformations, requiring both great concentration and will to control and only being safely usable for a short time before it must be removed, or the wearer will face dire concequences, their body and mind warped into a creature worse than anything they had fought in life.
Stats:
Melee: 7. Makai Knights train extensively with their weapon of choice, and Hideyuki is no exception, a master of swordsmanship both in terms of striking force and precision. He is, however, used to fighting inhuman beasts, and suffers some when fighting other humans because of his inexperience with dueling.
Ranged: 0. Soulmetal is too precious to spend making ammunition, and any mundane weapon would be useless against the Horrors.
Mobility: 4. Horrors are both swift and cowardly when faced with a Knight, so one must be able to both evade their blows and pursue them should they attempt to flee.
Defense: 1. Horrors are too strong to rely on blocking to prevent damage, and many have traits that make taking even reduced damage ineffective either due to toxin or similar effects.
Super: 2 While Makai Knight armor reacts to the user's will to preform amazing feats, Hideyuki is still new to the use of the armor itself, meaning that he is not able to harness its full power, only the armored state itself. This is, in almost any case, still enough to deal with whatever threat he is faced with, however.
Skills:
Center: 3 : Concentrate, clearing your mind of all distractions. Boosts the user's Melee and Mobility scores due to increased control of one's own body. Avoid your enemy's blows and wear them down with crushing strikes.
Beast-Hunting Method: 6 : Horrors very rarely attack in groups, and the Knight's training reflects this. Greatly boosts all the user's parameters against one foe, and decreases them against all others.
Sudden and Inescapable Violence Maneuver: 6 : Abandoning all defense, the Knight attempts to end a fight in a single decisive blow. Deals outstanding damage to the target, but leaves the user entirely open to attack, making any attacks made against them automatic hits and increasing their damage.
Inhuman Mind Meditation: Passive : Due to long hours training to fight monstrous creatures, the Knight's abilities are increased when facing such beings.
Supers:
That Which Shines in the Darkness: The armor of a Makai Knight is not like that of other transforming heroes. Inscribing a circle in the air with the sword of their station, a rift in space opens, from which emerges the golden armor which represents Hope. It surrounds the bearer, massively increasing all of their statistics, but can only remain active for 100 seconds before it must be removed, lest the user suffer the consequences.
