Name: Yui Akiyama //
Presto FestiqueAge: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Yui Akiyama- In her normal form, Yui stands at 5'4", her body incredibly slim as she only weighs in at 104 lbs. Her black hair is worn down to just below her chest, in length, typically straightened but curled when she wants to go out on the town. Her skin is particularly pale, a sign of her preference for the indoors, where she prefers to read and practice her guitar, which is constantly on her person in its case. Her guitar is a standard red Fender guitar, with a custom mahogany wood fingerboard, and neck, given to her by her father before his passing. Beyond her guitar, she is always seen wearing a grey and black hoodie, partially zipped up. Below her hoodie, is always some form of band t-shirt, anywhere between
The Beatles, or
Metallica. She's never seen not wearing knee-high socks, with her neon-blue roller-blades. The roller-blades adorn several stickers from various local bands, and local record stores, but not covering up most of the bright coloring of the shoe-wear. Alongside her signature roller-blades, she is always seen with a big pair of Bluetooth headphones on her head, constantly playing music in her ears as she rides around town.
Presto Festique- Yui's magical form, where none of her personal physical traits change. She stands at the same height, with the same physicality. Her clothing transforms, leaving her in a black skin-tight suit, made of some magical carbon-mesh, with neon lighting stripes that change color, depending on what she's doing. The lights normally rest on a neon-blue color, to match her now all-steel neon-blue roller-blades which now have a solid black music-note shaped plate of steel on either side of each roller-blade. When the wheels on the blades spin, they leave a neon-blue trail behind her. Her headphones now flash with bright neon-blue lights, from striped areas of the now-black headset. Her guitar, regardless of whether it was in her case or not, is now strapped to her upper body, the red body of the instrument now lit neon-blue to match the aesthetic of the rest of her outfit.
Personality: Yui is typically quiet, and prefers to keep to herself as she considers herself an introvert. However, this doesn't keep her from being comfortable with playing to a crowd, or presenting a school project. She's always been overly nice, offering a bit more than she can chew, but it's helped her make friends in the past. Yui always tries to push herself to be the best version of herself that she can be, finding new skills to try to master at any given point. A lover of books, and music, she is open to things in those categories, upon suggestion. Her curiosity sometimes gets her in trouble, and her quick-to-action personality gave her a reputation for being the quiet girl who tries to help those being bullied.
Background:
Yui was born in a small farming village on the northern tip of the mainland of Japan, to her father Hito Akiyama, a simple rice farmer, and her mother, Arya Akiyama who aspired to go to university to become a nurse. Due to her aspirations, Yui's mother left home while Yui was still very young to pursue her nursing degree, for a better life for her daughter. And it would be her mother, who eventually carried her into the new Special Administrative District of Minatodai, to which Yui would accept with open arms, as they moved to the city of Touto.
During Yui's first year out in Touto with her mother, her father visited from the family farm, his first time in a large city in his lifetime. On his first day in the city, he gifted Yui her first, and only guitar. The red Fender, with mahogany wood, custom made. Little did Yui know that this would be the last memory she would have of her father, as his trip was cut short, as he was killed in a car crash on his way back to their apartment. Yui was devastated, as she loved her father dearly, but used his death as inspiration to pursue learning the guitar. This was the start of Yui's passion for music, as it helped her in the darkest era of her life. It was all on her mom's shoulders now to raise Yui, which was an easy feat, as she was an easy child to raise. She did her homework, did her chores, and practiced her music. She had to adapt to helping her mom, as she worked heavy hours at the hospital, often leaving Yui to grow into a mini-adult early in her life.
In Yui's mid teenage years, she became a part of a band with some of her schoolmates, which gained local popularity. It was an instrumental band, with Yui playing at lead guitar. This let her hone her skills, and she was happy with where her life was going. The band got signed to a gig in a sketchy part of Tokyo, at a local club, but it payed well, so they took it. In the midst of their performance, a group of robbers came into the club, opening fire, and indirectly injuring the bassist of the band. Yui, enraged by the incident in the moment, erupted in a bright light and burst of magical music notes, knocking all of the robbers unconscious. She later woke up in the hospital, with a concussion from the fall after she apparently passed out. She later went back to school in Touto, which the news of what happened in that club spread to, as well as the death of the bassist and fellow student. Her powers now unlocked, as she hid them from the public, as well as her mother. She named her alter ego
Presto Festique, after the song they played during the band's tragic accident.
