God Design

Name:
Appearance: (Right now, you are small and weak, more of a magical being than a god. As your power grows, so will you, until you are strong enough to abandon your mortal shell. For now, this is all you've got.)

Creature Design

Name:
Description: (Your creature should start off small enough to avoid starvation. Try to keep it simple to start, if they are too complex, I may give them a population hit.)
Personality: (Are they aggressive, or passive, territorial, or cohabiting? This is where you would put this, just to give me an idea of how they would react to certain stimuli.)

Actions

Every turn, you can perform a minor act to make small changes to your environment, and an evolutionary act to make changes to your creature. Talking with other beings and interacting with your environment is a free action.

Example minor acts: Creating a food source like plants or animals out of nothing, growing an orchard for shelter, or throwing a fireball at your enemies are the limits of your power for now. Don't try raising mountains just yet.

Example evolution changes: Giving them claws for digging, extraordinary hearing, or sprouting wings are allowed, but the more complex the change, the fewer members you can influence at once. There will be points where I will grant you a major evolutionary change; save the really big things for that.

I always seem to be late to the party when it comes to joining a god game, so I've decided to make my own!

The idea I had in my head involved each player having a unique tribe they lead with their godlike powers (basically B&W), but I figured I would leave the option to the players.

Once I figure out how to make a poll, I'll do it, but for now, discuss in the thread!

A. Straight up god game, slightly stronger from the start
B. God game with civilization builder aspects, worshipers grant you power
C. God game with evolution aspects, weak divine beings that have to assist their creatures (shamelessly stolen from another thread)
D. Start with C, and then gradually turn into B

Edit 1: Poll is up, but feel free to ask questions or make comments in the thread.

I don't use the PTW method, but interest is offered.

I never understood this. I mean, I get how it's a thing you put down so your editor won't remove the page thinkin it wasn't intentional, but why would you keep sign during print?  :-\

Looks like the clear cut winner is D! Next up, how will the world look from the beginning? Obviously as gods, you will eventually be able to make changes, so this is more of a template to build off of.

I have listed three choices: archipelago, continent, or a mix of the two. In either case, I will give an idea of what each of the starting locations look like, and everyone will PM me where they would like to start.

If you have a different suggestion, please mention it in the thread. If enough players like that suggestion, I'll go with it.

Lest the reader think it was unintentional, as well. The fear is that someone might come along, open the book, see a blank page, then shout "THIS BOOK IS DEFECTIVE GIVE ME A REFUND" while hurling it to the floor!

ETA: On topic, there are enough generic archipelago worlds in the. Uh. World.

For exam papers, it is much better to have 'blank' pages so labelled on the trailing pages that are unused (or to pad between sections) than to instill the existential fear that a page that is blank (or blank-centred, even with header and footer) did not print properly. Or that a page that did not print properly is mistaken for an intentionally blank one.

And PTW.

Personally, I prefer "This space unintentionally left blank".
