Our story: Much less fancy that a chapter writeup would have been, this is more of a "summery".
Day 1: Here is both where everything and nothing happened! Lancer flew across the city looking for targets with his master in tow. He found two! Archer, who had set up on the tallest building in town as a vantage point. Archer got there by spiriting through the building and using the stairs, while his master used her absurd Agility to climb the side of the thing. Archer also saw Lancer in return. The second was Caster, who had run from the city to the Lakeside next to the leyline and set up a literal camp at a literal campsite with lake access. He turned the toilet, the only building around, into his workshop. Here, he and his master had begun abusing the item creation rules to make all sorts of things. The Master got a magic sling after finding out all the gun stores were closed this late, and they started making some traps to place around the campsite. The Traps were water-based, due to Caster's affinity for water. One was a "binding trap", which caused the water stored in the vial to form a chain holding its target in place. The second was a "drowning trap", like the first but it instead pulled its target into the lake. A third was started, acting like Tohsaka's F/Zero home defense system, but it would take more time to complete. Unlike Archer, Caster was not specifically looking for other Servants and Lancer was now veeery careful to be stealthy. With the help of the trees, this means Lancer was successfully not spotted. However, as a fluff action, both Caster and his master just happened to look at the sky noting how beautiful it was at the exact time Lancer was watching them. This meant Lancer thought he had been spotted, despite his best efforts.
Stirk found this hilarious.
"...It seems the first night will be a calm one. Good for us, since we can set up traps, but it's also a bit counterproductive in that we won't be able to get any information on our opponents."
Caster rests in the workshop.
(Said while Lancer was looking down on them
)
Anyway, Caster had no idea what was going on and continued to set up shop. Lancer debated attacking Caster with his master to prevent an enemy from getting set up on the leylines, but they both decided not to reasoning that Archer had seen them and could ruin everything. Archer, likewise, had decided Lancer's presence ruins his plans. Everyone returns home, and Caster's prediction comes true!
Meanwhile, Rider does nothing. I poked, prodded, and attempted to kickstart, but neither Ocean or SB would reply >_>. Assassin's team was awake and posting! They started with introductions, but at a fairly slow pace. I eventually ask them to skip it, since they were falling behind everyone else. They do eventually post an action for that night... but by that point, everyone had already gone home. I had decided that everyone going home meant that it was a pretty good time to declare it morning, posted it on the IC and in PMs...but not on the discord. I didn't realize that and thought they where planning instead of posting their actions, so this confusion cost everyone even more time than it should have! There plan was to walk around town looking for servants, and convincing the others that Assassin was actually Archer.
All of this took about a month. In the end, not much happened, but at least it wasn't as slow as the next day.
Day 2: Archer's master had adjusted her sleep schedule to afternoons in preparation for the war. As such, she goes off to school merrily with her NPC sisters after asking her eldest-a scrying specialist-for help. Caster's master calls in sick and goes to get some rest. Assassin goes on patrol in the city, and buys some head-phones for easy communication. The other three Masters are keeping a low-profile during the day, and she doesn't actually find anyone.
Lancer decides that letting people sit on both leylines is probably a bad idea, so he goes to check out the second located at an old church. Lancer is against this idea, but begrudgingly goes along. There, they find Berserker's master! He is drinking communion wine and playing the pipe organ. Badly, possibly due to said drinking. Not seeing Beserker around or realizing who the heck this guy is, Lancer's team promptly leaves the church without the man so much as acknowledging them.
Caster's master wakes up from his morning nap and goes for a walk while Caster continues to work on his defenses. Here, he finds a boat. He knocks on the door to see if the owner is there, willing to pay to get it. Nobody is there - they are probably gone for the winter, using this as their summerhouse or are at work. He goes back to camp, as Caster finishes up the Tohsaka-system. Both go get the boat, using Caster's strength to get it in the water and his magic to propel it to the center of the lake where they should be able to get more Prana. But someone is making their home here as well...Saber! Caster's master and Saber talk briefly, with Saber threatening the group if they do not leave the lake. Caster's group then leaves the lake, and goes back to making fancy magic items using item creation. This may or may not have been a good idea: Saber is secretly the final boss level enemy! (dun dun duuuuu!), as hinted when Caster examined his opponent. However, she was currently in a weakened state and was partially bluffing. If a fight had broken out, Caster's team would be at a disadvantage but could have won. The rules meant she wouldn't be out for good, but taking one of her "lives" away could halved saved some trouble later and given them full access to the lake. Back to the items, Caster's Master's glasses where enchanted with a vision-enhancing ability so they could see the center of the lake. Saber was hiding under the water, so he doesn't get much. When we left off, they were sensing the beacon and adding stealth enchantments to Caster's Master's cloths.
On to the other active group! Archer gets some roleplaying in with his master's eldest sister and is slightly demoralized by his Master's answers. They then go to school, with Archer following to make sure its safe. It is, and he goes off to the library a bit later. Archer's master uses school as an opportunity to find out about other Masters who may also attend school, figuring that since there was no sign of a Servant the other masters must have skipped. Its flue season, so plenty of students where gone in additional to the ones who normally skip (even including a teacher, who called in sick just this morning! Dun dun duuuh!). One particular absence stood out, and they began investigation that student. They didn't call in, and their parents are out of town, and it just happens to be Assasin's master! This is what happens when you skip school kids! Archer's master continues to try to get information about this student (such as home address) in a verity of ways, but comes up empty. Archer was momentarily stunned by the sheer volume of books in the library, but also begins investigating Assasin's master (in addition to his own' masters family in relation to the incident this morning). Its the afternoon by this point, schools out and Archer's Master goes home to sleep. Here, outside her room, her sisters explain to her eldest sister that she was worried about the kids who didn't show up to school today. The scrying expert gets to work, checking up on everyone they listed (both to see if they where OK, and if they where masters). Meanwhile, Archer uses one of his powers to activate a beacon of Prana, leaving a note alongside it with the intent to make a new ally of anyone who found it. Everyone can see the beacon, but by this point there was only one other active team and nobody actually went after it. Archer's master continued to wait until the phase change to wake up, while Archer waited for someone to find the beacon.
Assassin continued their patrol of the city alongside their master, when suddenly they notice something in the air high above them like a satellite. Someone is trying to scry on them! Who could it possibly be? They quickly move to hide her from its sight and....well that is the last action they took. They could possibly have followed it back to its source if they wanted to. But they didn't.
So there is the quick and dirty summary! I tried to keep things vague, just in case the "Continue on publicly but don't post character sheets" plan ends up going through (however unlikely it is). It was fun, even if it was slow.
I had to cut out a lot of the details, which includes a bunch of the RPing that happened alongside the quotes. Depending on the outcome, I'll probably post some fun bits alongside the Character Sheets. Feel free to post your own favorite moments, especially if you don't plan on continuing to play.
