Alida stops chasing the boat when the clay man turns to face her, and it steadily makes distance, even without him propelling it. She pauses for a moment, considering what to do, then splashes out of the water and scampers up the side of the canal, reuniting with Aleksandra. She looks over the young Russian girl for a moment, before nodding and setting off down the canal at what is for her a leisurely pace, though Aleksandra struggles to keep up. Unbeknownst to either of the girls, Tooru trails along a short distance behind them, content to follow silently.
They quickly overtake the boat, and continue past it, aiming to meet the others before it reaches the labyrinth. Barely more than a minute later, they catch sight of Mina and Asha, anxiously waiting on the edge of the canal near the flashy labyrinth's entrance, along with Pumsy, who's walking figure-eights around Mina's ankles. Alida wonders for a moment when he got there, and indeed when he left
her, but as she comes to a srop just shrugs and chalks it up to the cub being magical. Aleksandra, for her part, just leans against a wall near Asha and slides down into a sirring position, panting heavily; she was already fairly worn out from carrying her AK here all the way from her home, and sprinting with it has her out of breath. Tooru walks up last, waving to thenothers.
Now that they're all together, the girls talk with each other, and introduce themselves to Aleksandra, momentarily putting the labyrinth and witch out of their minds. Soon enough however, they have to start discussing their plans. According to Alida, the boat seems to have twelve normal human passengers, victims of the witch, and only has one familiar on it: a man made of clay. Mina comments that there might be more boats eith victims, not only in this canal, but elsewhere; she has the feeling that there's multiple entrances to this labyrinth, since the flow of despair from it seems low for how much negativity is in the air. Pumsy promptly chimes in that witches sometimes open lots of entrances to their labyrinths, if they're strong enough.
The discussion is cut short when the florid boat comes into view, and quickly floats in front of the labyrinth's entrance. It slows to a stop, then starts to turn at an angle while rising out of the water, shortly before it starts sliding up the stream of water that's flowing out of the tunnel. Not a single occupant of the boat reacts or seems to care when the vessel lurches up and starts to slide up the slope.
You don't have much time before the boat enters the labyrinth, though it does seem to climb more slowly than it floats. If you're going to stop it, or get on, you need to do so now.
