Sorry for the noob question, as there is very little documentation on this great mod.

I'm playing as dwarves, and I want to build the shops. I haven't found the coin mint on either b-w or b-e submenus, nor on the main menu.
So, I bought a few gold bars and minted some gold coins on the smith.

Now I have lots of coins sitting on a stockpile, and I still get "needs 5 coins" unfulfilled requisite to build the trade shops. What am I doing wrong?

This error was fixed in the modified masterwork version.  You would have to start a fresh restart... in the original you need 5 separate stacks of gold coins each with 500 or more coins a piece to make it work.
