Turn 5

There is a low rumbling as dust begins to float down from the ceiling. You vaguely hear gears grinding, and you suddenly get very dizzy...

You enter the door from which you were spied upon, skirting the corpse.  You find yourself in a moderately sized room, you estimate 6 meters by 4 meters. The walls are a greenish-blue, like seawater. They're made of a plasticine-like material. There are two doors in the room, one on the left wall and the one from which you entered.

Suddenly, a pair of valves emerge from the ceiling! An alarm blares, and you see a glass case behind each valve fill with yellow gas which is surely toxic.

The crate opens with unnatural ease, almost as if it were barely sealed at all. Strange.

Inside, you find all sorts of goodies!

APP Standard Issue Light Body Armor - Protects against 1 minor wound, reduces a major wound to a minor wound
APP Standard Issue Spring Gun Magazine - Holds up to 8 .45 caliber bullets.
Match - A match that can be lit on a rough surface

You feel as if fate has smiled upon you. The river rewards the faithful just as debris floats down to the nest building bird...

Then, suddenly, a pair of strange valves descend from the ceiling! Yellow gas wells up within them as an alarm blares.

You walk in the previous room...

And see someone else already messing with the machine!

(5 vs. 3 vs. 3) You duck into the shadows. It seems that both the person outside of the room and the construct in it lose sight of you. You stealthily slip out of the room with the construct into the room with the other contestant, who seems to be examining the room. They don't have a visible weapon.

You begin to examine the machine when you hear a clank. You look to the sound to see the very same person who entered the room return, holding a crowbar. They seem to have the intention of using said crowbar to fiddle with the machine. They stare at you blankly as their eyes widen.

(2 vs. 2)

You scramble over to the door and shut it just as another spray of bullets is fired, which all hit the door instead of you. The room you're in has but one other door, leading forwards, and seems empty... besides a strange machine that seems as if it's meant to dispense something. It has a coin slot and a flap at the bottom. An image of the knife is above the coin slot.

You are a RESISTANCE FIGHTER.

You oppose the APP and everything it stands for.

You oppose the Blood, Sweat, and Tears competition.

You seek to, along with other like-minded individuals, sabotage this competition. A successful sabotage would show the entire world that the APP is not omnipotent - the competition is clearly a symbol of the APP's power, and if a few rag-tag rebels are able to mess it up, surely the people can overthrow the oppressive APP.

You are currently situated outside of the massive prison complex where the event takes place. Your current objective is to meet up with your team at the South Entrance. You are currently at the East Entrance. A pair of guards patrol the stretch between the two entrances. You must get past them without alerting anyone. Neutralizing them is acceptable if quick and inconspicuous. The two guards carry power springrifles, the basic weapon used by APP soldiers.

Turn 6

You enter the left room. It's a dead end, connected to the room with the valves. You return to the valves and inspect them. They seem to have a single nozzle which is currently closed. If memory serves, you have a few minutes to get out of the room before the doors seal and the nozzles open, releasing the gas into the air.

You charge through a random series of doors, not even bothering to look at your surroundings, as you try to find a room that seems safe. It doesn't take you long to find a room without the nozzles. It has two doors, both in front of you, that don't lead to rooms with poison gas nozzles. At least, you hope so. The room itself seems rather bare besides a strange contraption on the wall. It has five dials with 7 settings each. The symbols are as follows

Below the dials is a large green button. You're absolutely sure that this is a puzzle of sorts. You're quite sure that the correct answer will reward you. You're moderately sure that there's about a 1/15000 chance of guessing correctly at random.

The moment you take a step forward, you stumble, and the person whirls around to face you.

You manage to sneak around the other contestant and enter the room that is dark. Rather, that was dark. It's now lit up, and it seems as if the other contestant entered your room via this room. At the end of the formerly dark room is a half-ajar door.

The other person, a bit startled, takes a tentative step backwards. They seem a bit too panicked to talk...

Perhaps it's the throwing knife in your hand.

You pound on the machine. Nothing happens.
You kick it. Nothing happens.
You try wrenching off the top panel. Nothing happens.
You yank on the dispensary slot.

A pair of weapons spring out of the machine, trained on you. The machine begins spraying bullets around wildly, turning anything potentially useful into bullet-riddled junk.

You idly wonder if you can somehow pacify it.

(1 vs. 6)

You duck down and begin to crawl through the tall grass, all the while keeping a close eye on the guard nearest you. Rather suddenly, a bright light blinds you. You hear distant shouting as your eyes adjust to the sudden shift in illumination.

A searchlight is trained on you, and the two guards, as well as the patrolman who sighted you, will probably raise an alarm if you don't kill them quickly. The two guards rush over to you while the patrolman, about 30 feet away, begins sprinting towards the nearest guard tower.

You are a CAPTAIN OF THE GUARD.

Your sole responsibility, at the moment, is to make sure nobody sabotages the Blood, Sweat, and Tears competition.

You must carry out this duty at any cost, including your life and the lives of your subordinates.

You have been informed that a small group of subversives are planning to carry out a "rescue" mission, shutting down the BST competition and freeing the surviving competitors. One of them has been captured and is waiting for interrogation. It is your duty to carry out this interrogation, accompanied by Lt. Hayes and Sgt. Lancaster, two good friends of yours and soldiers under your command.

You arrive in the room to find a young man with a sack over his head to block his vision. He is bound with chains to a metal chair, which in turn is bolted to the floor. On a table near him are a variety of torture instruments, ranging from knives and vices to clockwork serrated drills which can burrow into nerve centers, causing superficial but immense pain.

You are to get as much info from him as you can before he dies. If you get everything you can from him, you are to kill him and stop this plot with all necessary force. If you're too aggressive, you risk killing him prematurely. If you're not aggressive enough, you may only learn what you must when it's too late.
