You briefly pause to wonder why the cloud banding on the bottom part of the planet is exactly the same as the cloud banding on the top part, but rotated, and at an angle that seems totally impractical for any reasonable weather pattern to have produced, and for that matter what an obvious gas giant is doing having volcanoes and coasts, but dismiss such irrelevant thoughts from your mind.
You examine the Omanyte, learning that it is some kind of living organism. It has the ability to Bite, shoot water out of its mouth (the smurfs call it Water Gun), shoot rocks from its shell (Rollout) and withdraw itself into its shell for protection (Withdraw). It seems especially responsive to the Mutated Smurf, who has called himself its "Trainer".
You send an away mission of 25 smurfs to the planet below for materials to reinforce the ship. The expedition of 25 equipped super smurfs boards a space capsule. You then eject the capsule down towards the planet.
The capsule lands on the surface of the planet, which is largely covered in frozen water. There seem to be oceans of liquid oxygen nearby. It is very dark without much of a light source, but the smurfs are able to scan and locate a nearby copper deposit. They soon begin mining, stockpiling the collected resources nearby.
There are signs of robot life on the planet, such as robot fish swimming inside the oceans of liquid oxygen. Also a smurf swore he saw a large robotic animal prowling somewhere in the dark and foggy distance.
