Okay, so, serious question: is there any point in Falsktnafn pressing his "claim"?
I'm not asking if he would win, to be clear. I'm asking if he would get completely stonewalled, making him look like a massive idiot.
Basically, if he comes in magic sword in hand, will the reaction be "I don't know why but I feel like entertaining this nobody's claim to the throne", or will it be "lolnope get out"?

All claimants have to prove that they are better than the others, simple as that - that is what the swaying will imply. The Council is there to ensure that the proceedings are done "lawfully" and if there are some uncertainties about lineages or legal loopholes, they will use magic and their own experience to divine the right course of action.

Or in other words Nuke - you won't know until you make an action and roll for it. talking to PCs and rallying NPC support before staking out an actual claim might add advantage to your side, so consider staking a claim carefully.

The Pretty Boy Knights have no real interest or belief in anyone's claims or right blood, so Constantine might well be convinced to support a charismatic outsider with a magic sword. I say make your case!

What do you want from me. It's a magic sword worth as much as four landed titles. Of course it's gonna be silly.

Although, if I get too silly, let me know, and I'll dial it back.

EDIT: I should also mention that what Falsktnafn claims, and even what his sword says, is not necessarily the (whole) truth. It might be... or it might not. Does he have a divine mandate, or did he have a bad trip and hallucinate the whole thing? Who knows.

I mean as long as you keep in mind that any other new entrant can take 'runeblade' and call it 'Alternative Truth' and be equally forceful. As the first, you're the one setting the bar.
That being said I'm not the GM so the worst I'll do is sit and make mocking remarks in OOC.

I dispute that Falsktnafn is OP.
Having a divine mandate that you cannot prove is real doesn't really help much.
Having a sword that helps convince people you are telling the truth is basically the same as having a bonus to diplomacy. It doesn't always work, especially not on strong-willed people (like PCs).

Not the GM, my first YaK game, and the last RP I played here was somewhere from five to ten years ago.
I'll be holding my tongue and observing. Just an involuntary kick from my 'anti-authoritarian' streak.

Iituem, when you say meeting, do you mean the one with Constantine, or the one Constantine offered to arrange with the Grandmaster? You mentioned bothering the clergy, which suggests the latter, but it might take a while for that meeting to happen and conclude.

More importantly the worst thing I want to do is try and stymie someone's character in OOC. If nobody else agrees, I'm just an asshole trying to curb his flair.
Ergo if nobody else immediately agrees within seconds, the complaint goes out the window like it never happened and I stand whistling innocently atop a 'Last edit' sign.

Iituem, when you say meeting, do you mean the one with Constantine, or the one Constantine offered to arrange with the Grandmaster? You mentioned bothering the clergy, which suggests the latter, but it might take a while for that meeting to happen and conclude.

Whenever you're free, basically.  Orzo will just stare at you and mutter about the Baroness wanting to talk to you as soon as he can and you're available - although he's probably going to try as soon as you get out of the meeting with Constantine.  Helga probably wants to talk to you before you declare yourself openly.
