holy crap!  It spit out a massive gust of flames!!  The donkey survived the first one though    :p  Armok help us all! most of my stuff is made of wood!! >_<

This screenshot doesn't do it justice, it's wonderful to see live.

The burnt areas were from the first fire blast.

Yeah, they were in the last version. They used to only come to the largest forts though. Too bad your screenshot link is broken  :p

my fortress isn't even that big.  It's like the 4th or 5th year and I haven't even had my goblin attack yet.  it's just a big sand dune with some stones underneath       :p

     :p
That was an awesome experience

I've learned a valuable lesson.  Don't fight dragons in your own land...  things burn, children and mayors alike die.

*edit* I checked the old version wiki on dragons, and one thing that has changed with dragons in the new version is that they start moving and attacking right when they get into the map.

*edit* Also, for dragons, instead of being listed as "Current Resident", it was listed as "Uninvited Guest".

How true.... how true....

Thatīs pretty cool. I havenīt had a fire yet, so do dwarves now have a healthy concern for their own safety with regards to fire?

PS: Please donīt tell the inhabitants of my wooden town about dragons.

lord yes, if not them, I'm scarred  :p

It's awesome, I see my 14 strong wrestler army surround the dragon, the dragon breaths fire/kills someone, and then the dwarves flee in every single direction.  They looked like goblins like that :/ hahaha

There are three things I know about dwarves:
1. They've got beards. Even the women.
2. They're short. Especially the women.
3. They're Scottish.

the dragon was at least 4 times stronger than the hydra because of the fire attack, so the hydra wasn't too hard to dispatch ^^

I'm really curious to know how your wooden rewalled sections stood up to fire. Did they burn?

I played through the dragon scenario a couple times.  The screenshots were from the first time I met her, and yeah, every wood thing burns.  One time I put my army about 10 or so steps away from my wooden road, and the fire breathed and it started burning it all.  As for why the dragon didn't put my walls, it didn't get a chance to breath fire.  My men were behind the doors, so once the dragon busted the door down, they ganged up on her.
But in other scenarios... actually not sure if the wall burned...  but the wooden road definitely did.
Update:  A second dragon came T_T
Unlike last time though, I have a trained army, as opposed to my 12 wrestlers and one axe dwarf   :p

If this keeps up, expect a demon in your fortress soon.

And I mean the adamantine demon.
