Sorcery is useless without the people to use it. And sorcerers are useless without the sorcery to cast.

But both are useless if they get chopped up by genestealers.

Perhaps we could see if there are any Orgrin(sp?) around to recruit? while they stand out they also wouldn't draw other attention while still being tough enough to do something about a genestealer (or carry a heavy stubber on their own).

Or we could try and get something with better AP, runic blades might be within our abilities and would beef up cultists in HTH.

And then there is grenades/molotovs which may help dealing with groups of foes and hamper a genestealer too.

runic blades( unless you meant demonic weapons)
 are advantage if you posess catachan jungle fighter or space marine level melee skill,
average underfed underhive would be heretic is not going to beat superhuman predator with it.

And demonic weapons, well, it is just asking ordo malleus and hereticua to jump on us.

Well we do have some space marines, and the alpha legion might like them as tributes later. And we could just zerg rush the genestealers with lots of cultists, lack of skill doesn't matter with enough bodies thrown in.

We could also go with the old staple, Tentacles!, so long as the guys with them have loose clothing that can hide tentacles (and the other mutations that come with them) it should be okay. And besides, the ordos will at this rate still go after the genestealers before us.

The alphas aren't coming until we get comms. Can we do up a communication ritual that can be performed by large groups of untrained cultists? Then we could get psykers up who can immediately act as field-radios... Also, I suspect that we can get a freebie spell with our first psyker if we don't mind compromising them a little. Or we could try giving our mutants a spell. Something like a brief burst of warpiness to corrupt/rot a genestealer on contact?

Yeah, relying on the warp is... Well, it's a bad idea. Anyway, a couple of designs

Design: Communications (Vox Casters): With recent events establishing our lack of co-ordination and the enemy's relentlessness the idea of using the humble vox caster as an easy and reliable way of co-ordinating the cult. These relatively simple (compared to warp communication) devices mean that we can communicate over large distances.

Design: Corporate Infiltration: Contrary to most belief, the AdMech does not control all manufacturing of the imperium, only it's shiniest and rarest tech. For the average workers in the hive, and the more mundane and common products they produce, this work is generally left to the owners of the spire's factories (Whom the mechanicus then charges fees to maintain some of the more complex machinery). By infiltrating these corporations not only do we have a secure power base in the manufacturing facilities but a way into the good 'graces' of the spire nobility.

Design: Light Armoured Groundcar 'Tyber':
While the Goliath trucks we have are serviceable, rugged vehicles, they do lack the armaments and armour necessary for frontline combat. The 'Tyber', named after our glorious leader's favourite pet, is designed to fulfil this role. A fast, rugged four-wheel drive chassis that is armoured enough to resist heavy stubber rounds all over while armed with two heavy stubbers in it's turret, the 'Tyber' is designed to be operated by a three-man crew: A driver, gunner and commander/loader. Intended to compliment our trucks, the 'Tyber' provides the fast fire support to the Goliath's transporting capabilities.

Vox casters are, as near as I can tell, radios. That would imply that they are going to provide interstellar communications without utilising the warp, or waiting, umm, a while... between transmission and reception... I am not convinced that there is an on-world Alpha-legion presence, so it is, perhaps, unlikely, that vox-casters will help to achieve our grand plan...

Knowledge may be power, but, well, listening in on Daemonettes... is not always the most ideal scenario with regards to the proper maintenance and alignment of morale and the organisation's operational ethics... For the most part, two cups with a string between them is a tried and proven technique that should serve our local, interstellar, and even immaterial communication needs!

A vox caster can get into orbit, though interstellar communications aren't within it's reach. Or ours at all, if we don't want to set off the inquisition in a major way.

Not without being hilariously impractical. But vox has been shown to be able to reach ships in orbit. And from there we can then use the astropathic choir on a ship to then contact whomever the fuck we need to contact without risking our cover being blown by the inquisition.

There should be astropathic choir on the world, definetly, as this is something imperial world should have

But, as only mean of communication, hiveworld choir must be REALLY GOOD GUARDED

Adeptus arbites usually have own astropaths, but they also have best spying gear you can imagine, and are overgeared in generally : rank and file troopers getting power weapons, carapace armour,
shotguns with HOMING ON HEAT SIGNATURES ROUNDS, rhinos, thermal vision built in helmets and all the stuff like it.
