Piecewise said in IRC that the archway is thinner than the tunnel behind, or at least I think that's what he said.  So we can probably just shoot the archway until it's wide enough to allow the tank through.

...If y'all feel uncomfortable with an unskilled man repeatedly shooting the wall of this cavern with high explosive rounds, I'm totally okay with someone else using the demolitions skill to do it more carefully.  Archway's detonating either way~

It would actually be safer to have Ed fire the tank cannon at the archway; a 3 with a satchel charge probably won't kill us, but will require a reroll, while a 5 on a cannon shot will likely work just fine.

+1 skill means you convert 4s to 5s; it's only really useful if you're trying something extremely difficult, beause 4s are generally "good enough" in Piecewise games.
+2 skill means you convert 3s and 4s to 5s; it's not a massive benefit, but it's virtually always nice, because 3s are generally "not enough" in Piecewise games.

It only has an ~8% chance of mattering here, really.  You (and pretty much everyone else, regardless of skill) have about a 50% chance of success for planting a satchel charge ^{_{(Though a six is probably bad, sixes are unavoidable)}}, and on a 2 or 3 you probably just need to roll again, for another 50% chance of success.  With the cannon, however, you have a ~66% chance of success, and may or may not get to reroll on a 2, depending on Piecewise's whims.

There is the question here of suitability; a controlled detonation with a satchel charge is more appropriate than blasting away with a cannon... but that's only really correct on a 2, which may indicate "Miss", which implies consequences (namely, the ceiling collapsing).  On a 6, you're doing "too much" regardless, so a smaller blast (the cannon) is safer, and on a 1, the cannon has a good chance of merely killing everyone inside the tank--much better than the probable result of collapsing the cavern if you roll a 1 with a satchel charge.

So yeah.  Tank cannon's safer.  Though...

...I'm starting to think we should just have Robert fire a few hundred MG bullets into the archway.  That might not open it up, even with his high chance of rolling multiple 5s, but it's very very unlikely to bring the cavern down on top of us.  Still not quite as safe as just getting the tank diagonal, but close.

So, short story.
I'm taking classes at the CTC (basically at the local community college) and it starts after regular classes start at my home school. It's also closer than my home school, so I usually bike there.
Today I was going to go into my home school and take the CTC bus, so I could talk to some non-CTC friends. My mom insisted on me being lazy and sleeping etc. and I was so confuzzled.

It's probably too late, yeah.  You could still ask Piecewise about it anyway, he's been known to sometimes let people redistribute stats if they haven't been rolled (much) before.  Make a bolded post in the main thread, or DM him on Discord if you're into that sort of thing.
