That would be Ed, the current nominal commander, you’ll want to stick close to him.
(and who has bad luck so I know not to stand next to them)
That would be Ed, the bomb expert with more explosives than sense, you’ll want to stay far away from him.
You're not wrong~
As the cowardly dog unfit to wear the Army's uniform that I am, I shall liberally interpret my standing orders and do what I do best: fortify positions and do various things to keep me from getting shot.
From now on, unless I am specifically asked otherwise, I'll just hang around in the near vicinity of Alice and make a secure position to fall back on. Dead bodies as sandbags, branches for camo, grenades linked to trip wires if I can find them. etc.
Name:Tobeis ‘Toby’ Parrish, 20
Physical and Mental Description: Brown, almost black hair, exceptionally blue eyes, white skin, and numerous scratches. Wears glasses (which have as yet managed to survive without breaking) although he can see fairly well within about 50 meters. Pragmatic in combat, doesn't believe in fighting honorably, and very rarely ever stops moving, except to make a shot or pretend to listen to a superior officer. Has an amazing lack of respect for officers over the rank of 1st Lt. (unless they're serving on the front with him.) Prefers to use his bayonet instead of his pistol for close range, because the bayonet doesn't jam. Would rather hide in the mud than take his chances running for a better hiding place. Assigned to the 888th for assaulting a superior officer ("No, he inadvertently ran into my buttstock just before he could suggest a glorious charge towards a fortified position, clumsy sod"), shooting 3 prisoners whilst on a mission behind enemy lines ("What was I supposed to do, it was a behind-enemy-lines mission, and besides, those SS bastards had it coming to them") and failing to maintain a clean and orderly appearance during an award ceremony ("I guess 3rd strikes out, whoops, can't be any worse than have to serve under this idiot guess you'll have to transfer me to a different regiment.") Spends most of his time digging, building, or otherwise creating defensive positions to hide in when things inevitably go to shit. Is the type of guy who would tape 6 short-fused frag grenades to the inside of a blast door on the off chance that the enemy manages to open it.

If you want to hold a position, I recommend joining up with Carolina instead of Alice. Carolina is actually attempting something of use to the team, and Alice is ... not so much. Also, Carolina is currently in the team's fallback position - we fortifid that house for that purpose. Ed's orders would echo these thoughts, though my current plan is for the group to press forward to the next set of red roofed houses to the southeast of our current spot, providing the weather holds out.
P.S. Hey Redjive!Bold text is what is called an
ACTION POST. this is something you want the GM to see and respond to.
Things you want to use bold text on:
a)
your character's actual action for the turn: soemthing that would require a roll of the dice, or would change something about your character's situation.
b)
questions for the GM. Things you are unclear on that need GM attention and response.
c)
responses to GM communications. There should be one boldtext post per player per round. This is to help the GM see what needs responding to quickly and concisely. PW has led many games, some of which had many players, and things can get muddled very easily.
now, there
are exceptions to the above, such as in the last turn, where I posted an update that effectively covered the actions of a whole group. These exceptions are uncommon or rare, and should not be used often. instead, if you need to add to, change, or remove an action: either edit your first action, or cross out your first action and make a new one.
Things you should not bold:roleplay.interplayer communication or actions, unless they require a dice roll.
Finally, if you have a conversation IC whit another player, and it goes on for more than a post or two, you should consider moving it to ooc, to avoid cluttering up the main thread and action posts. All these guidelines are to help with the flow of the game, so don't feel too bad about missing them sometimes. We're generally pretty easy-going in that regard.
Hope this helps!
Out of Context conversation. This is almost an exception, because sometimes the GM needs some OOC for clarification, but in general, no.
