Endgame Changes?

So I hit adamantine midway through my access tunnel on Z level 0. Not a vein, just 2 pockets of ore.  I'm psyched for the next fey mood, but I wonder: am I safe, or is the endgame demon going to kill me off at random?

I believe the endgame demon was removed, and you are safe.

however, I've nevr found any adamantine yet, so I don't know for sure.

out of curiosity, what sort of map did you find it on?

Lol, this sounds definitive. Wasn't adamantine what the gods used to imprison the demon in the first place? I just made that part up, but it sounds right, doesn't it?  :) Let us know what happens! I need it spoiled for me.

What! Demon had better be there. I mean, now I can literally dig too deep, as opposed to just.. too far right.  ;)

looks like either the too deep demon is gone, or you have to get real far back in a mountain to find him (I had to pick the smallest area for fps reasons so I didn't get much of the mountain).

It makes sense that there isn't an Adamantium demon under every possible fort location! The same way that there isn't a magma river under every fort, and adamantine should be even rarer. Who knows, maybe somewhere in the world map is an adamantine prison. You'll probably never find it, though.

also two chasms, one round and one fingerlike.

the adamantine chamber spans levels -12 to -15, on level -16 there's just the glowing pits and 3 tiles of magma.

So he's still in there, and still has the [ENDING] tag, but we'll have to wait and see if he causes the death and destruction we're all familiar with  :D

If someone would read cores and such, you would know that Toady added like 3 or more end games. But there ain't which.   :D

Struck Adamantine repeatedly on -7, and once on -6. Have 17 mined ore. Nothing bad has happened yet, but its only been a year.

I have no lava to smelt it with   :(

EDIT: I found most of the adamantine embedded in the similarly colored Microcline, although a bit directly above the microcline was found embedded in rock salt.

The previous version had 3 endgames too. Look in the cores.

Demon, abandoned, Y'all died. 3 endgames.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the prison is gone. Last fortress died under a horde of frog demons, led by the uber demon. At least it's not an insta-kill anymore. (and no, bridges won't work on the demons, they'll just break.
