Hopefully Toady has control over the thread timer and can bump it up to something like once an hour. That shouldn't interfere with upper forum or forum games, but is long enough to truncate one of these bots.

Any forum games players care to weigh in?

Arms race games often have multiple threads, which are generally updated together. Not being a GM, not sure how much of a disruption 1 hour would be.

It be a pain the ass for a couple things. For most games it doesn't matter that much- an IC thread getting put an hour or more behind the OOC thread doesn't matter that much. Would hurt Arms Race style games a bit, as you'd need three hours to set them up. Restricting rapid thread creation would be irritating, but it could be managed.

A simple way to solve that problem: don't make it 1 thread/hour, make it 10 threads/24 hours. Or some other arbitrary number, I'm not sure if anyone would (with a legit reason) need to create more threads than that in a day.

Limiting to a certain number of threads per day would both be less annoying to GMs and such and would probably have been more effective against this particular bot.

Huh?
It also has a spam thread. Just one, though.
