”Um, no! I’ve lived in a giant forest my whole life! Are they all such jerks?!”

"Not always, but they can get you jailed without a trial or even a crime. Or other stuff. Maybe don't antagonize him."

[SOLDIER First]

”Yeah, I’ll try to keep that in mind. It’s not the worst thing I’ve heard this week, at least...”


Tempers die down and attitudes are lost as the night wears on. Sir Crowe returns to his bunkroom, and the group settles down for a night of rest.

But their sleep is soon interrupted by the sound of shouts echoing through the fort. It grows loud enough to rouse everyone from their slumber before dying suddenly. The group rises and moves to exit; they see a soldier in the dark hallway, but it just looks like the man who showed them in.

Objectives: Find out what all the noise was!

Henrietta threw her helmet on and rushed out into the hall.

"Hey, what's going on?"

Henry to N5, address soldier.

Aiesha slid out of bed and moved out to the hallway, gripping her knife tightly. She called out quietly to the nearby soldier. _{"Hey! Is something going on? What was all the noise?"}

[Sirus]

O-4, weapons ready.

Otto couldn't help but feel a smug sense of satisfaction. He had warned this bunch that the local bandits were far more dangerous, and here was (probably) the proof! Perhaps next time they'd heed the advice of their betters.

[SOLDIER First]

”Nothing you need to worry about. More bandits, but we have them covered. Second time this month, can you believe it?”

[SeriousConcentrate]

"We should help out anyway. It's only right, us being guests at the fort. We gotta pull our weight too."

[Blade Master Model 42]

"...I guess I could help. Sybella should stay here, where it's safe."

[Sirus]

: "They're a determined bunch, aren't they?" Otto asked the soldier laconically. "You'd think that after the thrashing we gave them last time..."

[SOLDIER First]

”Really, you don’t need to worry. The others are already taking care of it. We outnumber them about three to one.”

[SeriousConcentrate]

Henry pointed accusingly at Otto.

"This guy called us soft and that sounds like a challenge to me. This is a good opportunity to prove him wrong by racking up more bandit kills than him."

[Blade Master Model 42]

"Four to one is better odds. Besides, I won't be sticking around, so this is my last chance to help out."

[SOLDIER First]

The soldier looks at Otto through his helmet. He, Nuallán, and Simon have seen this man just about every day for months. His name is Derek.

”Oh yeah? And what’s so special about him, huh?”

[SeriousConcentrate]

"With due respect to everyone else he's arrogant and I'd like to prove him wrong. Besides, like Aiesha said. Four to one is better than three to one."
