The only console that would be able to run it is the PS3 because it contains better hardware then most desktops.

That link actually works. You just need to copy and paste the link into the address bar rather than click it.

Now that's a little bit more like it. Forgot to edit the controls, but ah well. Credit still goes to vgmuseum for the base image of course.

I'm surprised no-one has bothered to raise the issue of interface yet.  DF is complinkity enough with a full keyboard at one's disposal, can you imagine how DF in its current form would be to play with around eight buttons?

(okay, a touch screen might help.  If the game were completely reworked to use one.  And DF didn't make the DS rock back and forth in the corner, whimpering).

Touch screen would have a bunch of buttons, while the top screen was for actual display.

The real issue is about how small the damn screen(s) is(are).Could you imagine seeing characters that small? Even on the PSP's screen it would be silly.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the cosmos. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips, I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my veins. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk and free throw.

Somehow I can't beleive even one of the regular member around here is retarded enough to seriously consider DF on a portable rig. Especialy not with the image shown above.

I remember playing on those when I was young. I had one of Double Dragon. Not only it was one of the lamest game I ever played, but it wasn't even a regular screen. It was some kind of light display, pretty similar to the display you have on your digital watch or digital clock. And even then, it was burning thru batteries like there was no tomorow...

Wishful thinking.

Theoretically, a single-game hand-held device could run DF better than a PC. If it was designed for no other purpose than running DF, it could be heavily optimised and have stuff like dedicated flows processor or pathfinding processor. Of course, major changes would be needed in source code to take advantage of this device's capabilities.
