The End of a Cycle OOC
« on: August 29, 2017, 03:29:19 pm »

I had the stupid idea for a possibly short possibly long RTD about 6 or so people trapped on the surface of a smallish metal sphere in space, that has an atmosphere held in place by a forcefield of some kind.
Problem is, the forcefield is failing.

The point of the game would be to discover why the place was built, why you are there, and how to fix the forcefield. Possibly ascending to godhood dying horribly along the way.

Would anyone be interested in something like this?

An RTD with a plot that's intended? Sounds dangerous, considering the tendency of players to derail that. I'm in. Totally not to derail that plot.

Special Skill: Combat. (+1 to combat rolls?)

If possible I would like to spawn inside a containment cell, trapped until the  power goes offline.

Name: Unit 57R-UD31 "Strudel"
Appearance: A humanoid android build for exploration, think K-2SO from rogue one.
Special Skill: Synthetic Durability (Extra sturdy. Basically being a robot, so immune to pain, bleeding out, having to breathe and other such trifles. Can continue functioning even when most of his body is damaged. Since he's an exploration bot, I'd also imagine his chassis is armoured against enviromental dangers to a certain degree, like corrosive substances and fire and whatnot. )

I suppose I should have clarified slightly better.
1. @Strudel You have been locked on the sphere for a long time. Like a really really long time.Think at least 20 generations. So a robot is fine, but I may roll to determine if your actions fail. The reason for this is that over that long period of time knowledge was gradually lost by the people and their descendants who had been locked on the sphere. Food and water and other necessary items were provided or fabricated, why would they need to understand the machines that made those items? Basically as past high quality bodies failed, when your mind was transplanted to a new body, it was usually of a lower quality. So there are errors or glitches, but you will indeed be nigh invincible. Just glitchy. At lesat system 32 wasn't deleted!
2. @Puppyguard, and everyone. The power hasn't failed yet. Something in the system for projecting the field that contains the breathable atmosphere, either the item itself, or its power source, or something in between, is failing. So being locked in a cell until the power fails would not necessarily be the best idea. Starting in a cell is fine though. Maybe temporary confinement?

((glitchy robot sounds fine to me. Keeps things interesting. Assuming, indeed, they didn't delete system32 like a bunch of schmucks and I have to roll another character alltogether.))

(I'd like to not be co-leader, if possible. If I'm still in the running anyways, that's okay.)
