Kristijan let out a strangled grunt as the blast of magic hit him -- he'd never been actually attacked by a proper, trying-to-kill-him enemy before, and it hurt. But he stayed on his feet, even managing a defiant smile at the enemy mage.

And Kristijan took a couple of running steps up to the mage, before taking his sword and sending it swinging at him!

Leon was surprised by the peasant's spontaneous assistance and the fact he'd apparently used magic without a tome. He didn't have the time to dwell on it, though, and dove recklessly at the closest sword-wielding enemy.

Kristijan made another choking sound as he was once again painfully scorched, falling to the ground with a thud -- but when General Cullen applied him medicine and pulled him to his feet, Kristijan stayed steady on them, bloodied though he was.
:"Ufff... thank you, sir."
Hearing Matthias' call, Kristijan leveled a finger at the taunting mage.
:"I don't know if I'll be heading back over here, or if it'll be one of the others, but one of us will take you down."
A grin both defiant and optimistic broke out on Kristijan's face.
:"We will stop you! You can't take down our squad, because we're part of the great army of Astrasia!"
He turned towards the other front of the battle, running in with his sword raised.
