:"...right. Cutting to the chase then, I suppose. We've been hearing about thieves around here -- would you happen to know anyone that might have had something stolen?"
Kristijan tried not to let his glance at the ruby necklace be too obvious.

The youth looked up to see who was bossing him around. He made an annoyed sound when he saw what Kristijan was wearing.

"Tch. Hey, I've got a better idea." He pointed up at the sky and his necklace gave off a faint glow before he launched a fireball into the sky. Strangely, Kristijan didn't see a tome on the youth. "How 'bout you scoot along before I roast you."

Kristijan saw two armed people hiding in the trees; had they always been there? An archer ran up next to the youth as well.

"Matthias, don't move."
Hallbjorn turns to the peasant a points to his pocket.
"Mind if I take a look at that gem?"

"I mind very much, in fact. How bout you step-" He paused when he saw a fireball shoot up into the sky. He smiled maliciously and shot a bolt of thunder magic at Hallbjorn. He too lacked a magic tome. "Consider that a warning, runt."

To back up his threat two axemen emerged from the mayor's house.

"So you have no idea where Ferdon might be then? None at all?"

"N-No ma'am! Why would I know-" He stopped talking when he saw a fireball shoot up from around the corner. He took a step back and focused on Cullen, a ring on his ring finger began to emit a faint purple glow.

"Yes I am, but I'm sure I can help somehow. I don't need to stay by my commander's side all the time. Love can't wait!" Leon might've gotten a bit caught up in the moment.

"I'm telling you that's really not-" He paused, seeing a fireball shoot into the sky. That was his cue to blast this guy out of the sky. But he hadn't been lying about most of his story and if he struck out he'd be dead.

"Actually take me to her! But, uh, she's actually at the mayor's house, not out in the fields."

[Swordstar]

"What the... Sir, we appear to be under attack!"

[Caellath]

"Up we go!" he said, letting the man on the roomy saddle and then making the pegasus take into the skies. Leon would probably regret this when his brain started working once more, but for the moment he was in full cupid mode, unfortunately.

"Do you really think that this will end well for you? The rest of the team is literally right around the corner and we're ready to kill you before your friends get here. Or did you think that we went into the military because we can't put down a bunch of rabble like you?"
Says the man least likely to willingly put down a bunch of rabble like them.

If Matthias had been drinking water there would have been a spittake.

"How did you do that without a tome? Was it that citrine you just pocketed?"

"Can I see it?"

:"Wait, that means you're the rebels! Well, I won't just roll over for you!"

He turned back to the man.

Matthias moonwalks to 6-10 while giving Stealth Mage B a disapproving look the whole way.

:"Right! I'm heading on down, Alana!"

Leon quickly noticed something was wrong. Treachery!

"Matthias and Hallbjorn, retreat and regroup!" he shouted, changing his stance on the saddle but ending up reminded of the presence of a peasant on his mount.

"We're being attacked by rebels, I can't take you to the mayor's house. I'll have to leave you somewhere safer then help my companions. You run for shelter."

Move to 8-10, drop Dain on 8-11.
