Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

More people shuffle about but the axe still eludes them.

As the terrified shouts grew closer Leon realized they belonged to Astrasian soldiers running for their lives. They tore through the thickets as though their lives depended on it. They didn't even see Leon. A third came up behind them, panting and wheezing, but slipped on the ice.

What the soldiers were running from soon made itself apparent. A small squad of Astrasians led by a cloaked figure were in hot pursuit, but they had nowhere near the amount of life as their prey. One coldly approached his fallen comrade and speared him in the throat, ending his screams, as well as his life. However, the cloaked figure began a strange chant and shortly after the scout was back on his feet. In fact, the entire squad had similar injuries; wounds that would have caused them to bleed out or holes where vital organs should be.

Before Leon could inform the group the cloaked figure called out to him.

"Astrasian. If you value your life, slay those two cowards and flee across the border. Otherwise, you and your comrades will join those who have already fallen."

Leon didn't need to be a genius to tell there was something terribly wrong with the scene and with the offer.

"RETREAT!" he shouted at the escaping soldiers. "I AM SCOUTING FOR MY SQUAD, THEY ARE BEYOND THE BRIDGE!" he called before rescuing one of the men then flying towards his allies.

Leon to 12-5, rescue Fighter, canto to 9-4.

"Enemies, enemies beyond the bridge! Someone is killing Astrasian soldiers and I think they are raising the dead to do their bidding!"

"Hey steve." You speak into the air.
>Yes?
"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

"Raising the dead you say? I never heard of such magic. Then again after what we saw in the rebel village I'm not ruling anything out."

"I JEST NOT! READY YOUR ARMS! I SAW IT WITH MY OWN EYES! TAKE ME AS INSANE, BUT ENEMIES APPROACH!" Leon shouted as he made his mount fly lower, very obviously not joking and still surprised by what he'd seen.

If Kard had not known Leon, he would have been unconvinced. Even now, he didn't truly believe. Still, he readied his lance. "If you're fucking with me, Leon, you're gonna catch a hell of a beating."

Wait?

"Regardless, we must help our fellow soldiers. To arms brothers and sisters, we must save our comrades!"

[9,12], taking care to avoid the fort. After getting close enough, Malthe called out to the myrmidon across the river.

"Soldier, over here! I can get you out of the fast!"

:"Raising the...?! That sounds unbelievable... but... I trust you, Leon!"
Kristijan set himself, walked through the patch of woods until he reached its edge, and then he drew his sword, the wooden weapon held upright as the usually-optimistic swordsman prepared to do whatever he had to do.

"This sounds promising."

Mydis had no doubt thought it before, but it occurred to her again now that Leon was rather well-suited to be a scout. He was certainly loud enough. She found it more than a little satisfying in a "found one's calling" sort of way.

She followed the rest, keeping a loose grip on her axe and refraining from any humming. If there were really enemies, she wanted to be able to hear them coming.
