Hall nods at that.
"It's good to see you as well. And it's good that you're fine... er, great that.... I'm glad you're okay. Is what I mean."
He pats her on the shoulder awkwardly.

Selkie patted him on the back significantly less awkwardly.

"Thanks, really. So, care to fill me in on what led you guys here? I assume that these aren't the first rebels you've had to fight."

Hallbjorn shrugs at that.
"I imagine it was similar to what you guys went through. There were reports of mssing shipments so we were sent to investigate. Well, we got attacked by some villagers and after... dealing with them, we came here."

"Pretty much. You won though, we didn't." she pauses, then grins. "That's not to say we gave them an easy time of it!"

Hallbjorn smiles in a slightly uneasy way.
"I would hope not. We're supposed to be the pride of Astrasia and all that."

Matthias shrugged.

"I wouldn't know what to take, and Alana is a noblewoman; I doubt she's used to rifling through the pockets of commoners."

Kard rolled his eyes. "Fine then, I'll see what they've got. Wouldn't be the first time I've robbed a dead man." Kard started at the first body that he'd dragged to the hall, and began going over it, checking belts and boots for hidden caches of gold, notes, or anything that might catch his eye, and moving from one body to the next.

"I wonder who's bright idea it was to send us without a staff user? Having someone capable of keeping us on our feet might have made the difference."

Hallbjorn looks around for the general before smirking.
"I didn't know Bureaucrats could think."

"I don't expect them to have much on them. Either they're poor villagers forced to fight or they're actual rebels who I suspect are smart enough to not keep anything important on them..."

"Eh. You never know. One time I found a ruby the size of my fist in a guy's boot. Of course, I had smaller fists back then, but it was still a hell of a find." Kard pulled another boot off of his current mark, and shook it out upside down. After jewels failed to appear, he threw it over his shoulder.

"Hmm, I suppose."

She shook her head and then looked down at her outfit with a sigh. It was quite stained and ripped at this point.

"I shall need a new set of clothes once we get back to base... That is one benefit you armored folks have. No need to worry about armor ripping in the middle of battle."

After several minutes of checking belts, shoes, pockets, and anything else he could think of, Kard stood up. "Well that was a fucking waste of time. No notes, no money, nothing. Just cheap weapons and even cheaper boots." Kard set his hands on his hips and rolled his neck until an audible crack could be heard. "So, what's our next move?"

"You should consider armor too. The harder you are to hurt, the longer you can keep fighting, you know?"

"I see your point, however... Well..."

She glanced down at her thin and rather short frame and gave a slight shrug.

"I can't say that I'm overly suited to most types of armor. And it seems that most armor made for noble ladies is much more focused on looking pretty for parades and that sort of thing than it is in actually being practical."

If she was being fair, she would have admitted that this was because most noble ladies were healers and mages who stayed safely on the back lines away from where they would actually need armor. But the memory of the set that her fiance had given to her as a gift as she was leaving was still too fresh in the back of her mind.

"I guess, but your family is probably loaded, right? So they should be able to find an armorer who can make you a proper set for a fair price, since off-the-rack won't work for ya."
