So. Someone is playing silly buggers in the Kol gambit. Because short of another card getting involved, it should not have been possible for the Deathslayer to do anything but imprison Kol.

True. And now you have an enraged Lifeslayer on the warpath, knowing that you tried to bring him down.

That being said, that is an ahead of time warning. While Kol won't be able to simply kill anyone not in a gambit he very well can open up new gambits to destroy your creations.

Do the Jungle Tavros not use their Alters? (And if they do, does it not count as worship for me?)

Why on earth are the Phopu now worshiping Phanalin? She's darkness and starvation to them. Even her name in Phopu, Twister, is evil.

Not evil, just neutral, opportunistic and untrustworthy.

Remember you also get worship acts from being the antagonist or trickster in the pantheon, so basically you can go around a throw in tidal waves and people still grant you acts as the evil cocksucker who drowns them every now and then.

The Jungle Tavros do not in any large quantity, mostly because they lost most of them and are in a guerrilla war with the Chichisy, which they are barely keeping at a stalemate thanks to fruits of knowledge and magic powers.

as for the kovash: how exactly are they  supposed to build temples when they are nomadic people being chased around by what has become a mortal slaver enemy chasing them all around the jungle?

Development between the Junglefolk and the Plainsfolk is rapidly different. The Junglefolk don't even know how to create anything beyond tents yet.
