I was just struck with a horrible thought. What if the Acter people are us? That at some point humans were blinded until we couldn't see the light? Platos metaphor of the cave comes to mind here...

In any case, I guess we're shitty gods.

Significantly better.

Anyway, I did my action. I'm not sure if it needs the second Act to actually do all of it, though.
Robo, I started doing my action before you posted yours, so it's not a response.

he quietly removes their physical eyes from their form, leaving them unaffected by the blinding light of Lu and obscuring darkness of Phalanalin-[/font]

Whelp, my job just got way harder. Guess the whole collaboration thing is out the window.

It's more that unless you are specifically making it light or dark at them, normal light or darkness is irrelevant.

Yeah, uh, Robo, the blinding gaze thing was slightly overkill. Maybe an Act to remove that? Other than that, maybe try improving the world, rather than repeated trying to gather worship from a confused and mentally damaged people?

No way, the blinding gaze is a total bonus. I just meant for it to be like a magical anti-dark magic flashlight, but I'll take extreme laser eyes.

I doubt this gambit will be settled this turn, so I'm going to move onto other things in the meantime.

They were theoretically anti dark magical flashlights, but the thing is roboson, if you shine with the brightness of the sun (which their eye rays were) into a cave were people dwelt for several months in utter darkness, the resulting exposure to sunlight in this complete darkness may cause major damage to the eyes.

Glass one act is enough, at least for the eye thing, as for the mental fortitude. They might no longer break down weeping at seeing gods unveiled before them, but the totality of divine presence around mortals has a mindwarping effect nonetheless. Consider this one of the hard-coded rules of this universe.

As civilizations progress people have a better capacity of simply dealing with gods popping up, but these poor folks just need time to adjust, build, develop and then they can mentally become ready for dealing with omnipotent beings swarming around.

Beyond that i would appreciate if you all  bold your actions the other thing you did is a nice thought but not very helpful, bolded actions are far easier to see and make turn updates less of a hassle.

As for the Gambits Cards are played via pm and you can play as many as you want per turn. Or discard as many as you want.

Try and tell me that the Acterians aren't better off without a distinction between light and darkness. Try.

Mutilating them. It is such a brilliant answer.  ::) But VaraLin is fucking horrified now. She feels absolutely damn awful.

No, I totally agree with Glass here. Removing their eyes was definitely the sensible thing to do. Inflicting weaknesses upon mortals forces them to use their minds to solve problems, rather than rely on brute strength.

(btw, the GM is totally going to drive them even more insane for suddenly losing their eyes. If I have the measure of this game correctly, there is literally no way to influence mortals without driving them insane)

Nah, you just have to be less direct and think through some of the consequences.

Ok, let me clarify: I did not do something akin to gouging their eyes out. It was more along the lines of changing them from something that has eyes to something that doesn't, the way some real animals are, but faster than normal evolution would have occur. Plus, they have psychic sight now, and their eyes couldn't see anything anyway; the point is to ease them away from having eyes to actually being able to see.
