Bio: The Volkov clan originates in the eastern reaches of Vetznov. As a family they made their living hunting the native creatures of the lands for their warm pelts and meats. It’s said that if you want to get the best meat and furs in the region you find a Volkov. That said, they also are quite adept at taming the native creatures as well, raising wolves to act as hunting dogs for them. Melor was a bit different. Early in his life he was conscripted into the army, becoming something of a knight and fighting in a war against a neighboring country. He found he liked fighting up close much more than his family’s normal bow hunting methods. It was through this that he found what would eventually become his permanent mount. He was hunting around a mountain for a particularly large bear when he came upon a cave surrounded by the bones and half eaten corpses of various forest animals. It was the home of his prey. He waited outside the cave for hours, getting half frozen before it finally came out to meet him. They fought for a long time, the bear nearly winning when Melor scored a lucky blow to it’s heart and killing it. He had nearly left when he heard a second, smaller, set of feet exiting the cave. It had been a baby bear, the larger one presumably being the mother. Melor, having a healthy respect for the creature that nearly took his life decided to take the baby home with him. He raised it himself, training it and forming a bond with the bear until it was fully grown. It was then that he heard of the civil war in Caermo. Having not had the rush of battle fill him in years, Melor left to help.
