: "Not a member of their order, no. I'm an initiate at the Temple of Di, and the Matron Mother there has ordered me to visit the House of Scholars. I've been there once before, you see, and unlike most of the initiates I have some training with combat magic."

[Caellath]

"Then you are welcome to join our group. You'll be safe with us and your experience with combat magic will be valuable." And that made it two for the price of one.

[Swordstar]

"Good to meet you then. My name is Lysander. What's yours?"

[Haspen]

"A mage and a person who knows the way to House of Scholars." Ethan rubbed his chin.

"Lavinia, you think we need more?"

[Sirus]

: "Well, your fortuitous arrival just now certainly makes my task easier. My name is Amberly, and it's a pleasure to meet you all."

[Caellath]

"I'm Claude, pleased to meet you. What sort of magic do you use?"

[Sirus]

: "Light magic. Specifically the Warding school, which can generate temporary magical barriers." The nun looked down and wrung her hands, feeling somewhat embarrassed. "I'm...still basically a beginner at it. If I go with you, you should not expect me to stop armies in their tracks or anything of the sort. I can do little more than blunt incoming blows."

[Twinwolf]

Marlow had been sipping at a drink - just water, really - when the group had come in. He heard them talking - hm, a job? That could be nice. He'd been looking to do something after all.

"'lo there." he said as he stood up after being called. "Skills, skills skills skills... I might not be able to lug a sword around, but sometimes you just need a quick knife in the right place, don't you? I can pick locks too, or... relieve opponents of their heavy and unattended gear." He paused. And then face-palmed. "...Well I just described myself as a thief, didn't I? Before you ask, I used to be a thief. Honest work for me now."

[Caellath]

"I'm only able to blunt blows with my face so that's quite good already." Claude tells Amberly before turning his attention to Marlow.

"And we are state-sanctioned pirates. A former thief could be useful, as long as you're honest towards us."

[Aliemma]

Well, not-bothering time is over. Time to see if it's job time. She waves to the group as she gets up and heads over, grabbing her lance but leaving her checklist at her table. She glances at Amberly and subconsciously grips her lance tighter.

"Hi there! I'm Maria, and as for skills... Well, I can ride a horse and fight with a lance while riding her, does that count?"

[Sutoratosu Akira]

Alain had busied himself flipping back and forth between the Tome, sitting up at the bar. His last job had paid decently enough, but there had been a bit too many screw ups for his taste; in the end it had cost him the last few legs of his old Thunder. Not that he was unaccustomed to wearing the things out, he'd only ever been able to get them second hand afterall, so even if none of the shops had his preference still on their shelves, it was still nice to hold a tome that wasn't slowly falling apart at it's seams, for once.

Still didn't change the fact that fire wasn't his forte. But, whatever... beggars couldn't be choosers.

As a couple strangers- fighters from the looks of their garbs -called him over though, he clapped the tome closed, looking them over. They couldn't possible be any worse than his last employers, could they?

:"Skills?" he asked at the inquiry "I sling thunder, a few crooks get fried, then I get paid... at least, that's how it usually happens, if things go smoothly. Anyway, call me Alain, Al, it doesn't matter; You lot have a different air around you than the last morons I worked for... so color me interested."

[Gaterhyme]

"Lavinia, you think we need more?"

"Claude's got the purse strings, so I don't see why not."

"Long as they can keep up with us, anyway." Honestly, she wasn't sure why Ethan doubted himself on land. She'd bet that their crew could fight just as well as any person here, on land or sea. But numbers were still numbers, she supposed.

As for interviews, Claude was doing fine. She'd hang back with Ashlyn, and step in later if something came up.

[Caellath]

"Anima magic then, huh?" Claude checked his notes after listening the mage and the rider. So far the mage and the thief seemed to have some past experience, and since Amberly was their guide so she could be as green as she wanted. To be honest, they could use a rider for scouting so he was likely accepting Maria even if she happened to be green.

"Any experience of your own, Maria?"

[Aliemma]

"I've been hired a few times before, mostly for escorting and defending the escortee. Typical rider work, really."

[Caellath]

"That sounds like it's enough. It's also good to see people have good taste when it comes to armor and cape color." He commented, obviously referencing Maria and Alain's attire. He idly scribbled a few more lines on his notebook while talking, like it was second nature to him.

"And I didn't catch your name." He said, turning his attention to the self-professed ex-thief.
