She peered down the steps at her feet. Like Ethan had said at the start of the fight, they'd have to haul the loot after "negotiations," no doubt.

Lysander headed back to Ashlyn and smiled at her as he gently rested his heal staff against her shoulder.

"Here, this should help. You doing alright? You took some hard hits there at the end."

Ashlyn relaxed as the magic healed her wounds.

"Thanks Lysander. Yeah, these guys were no joke, 'specially that old timer, but I'll be fine. Heck, I should be asking if you're alright having he singed you so many times."

[Swordstar]

"Huh? Oh, eh, it's fine. My magic resistance is pretty good to be honest. Not saying it didn't hurt, but it wasn't going nearly as much damage to me as it was you. I think it was some of the training my... ah. My grandma used to give me..."

"Eh, I'm supposed to be the one taking the hits, even if I've got as much magical resistance as this deck."

"Oh yeah, you didn't join up with the Captain like the rest of us. Have you been able to contact your family since we rescued you? I try to send a letter home whenever we make port."

Lysander winced, staring down at the ground as he answered her, smile fading.

"No, I uh... I'm... I'm all that's left. The pirates that you all rescued me from... They took me and a few others from my family's ship before sinking it. Most... most everyone was already dead at that point. So... No one to worry about me back home. No home back home either though..."

[Caellath]

"But I don't plan on losing next time, either."

"Ah, but next time I'll be prepared if you try to snatch victory from my hands." Claude replied with a wry smile before following Lavinia's gaze.

"I wonder how much we scored this time." And naturally, he was going to take inventory and register everything in his log book.

"You'll just have to tell us when you get around to counting."

Leaning against the mast, she glanced over at Ashlyn and Lysander, who seemed to be preoccupied with their own conversation, before turning her attention back to Claude.

"Though, come to think of it. Didn't the mage who fried you have some sort of orb?"

[Caellath]

"He did, and he was cradling it very protectively. I think Ashlyn has it now, she was the one who took him down."

Ashlyn winced at her blunder.

"Ah. I'm... sorry for bringing it up."

"Anyway..." Ashlyn said as she pulled out the orb the old timer had dropped, "What do you think this thing is? That old timer was trying so hard to keep it to himself while he was trying to fry us, right?"

"It's... it's ok. You didn't know. And yeah... he kept screaming about how it was his. Wonder what it does..."

[Haspen]

Ethan strode over to the other captain.

"So, Domirian captain sir. Do you hand your cargo and wealth over, or do we add another corpse to the deck and take the goods anyways?"

P-please, mister pirate captain, we were just carrying grain to the poor children...

"Search the ship, folks, and report any valuables. If the good captain lies to us, he will be having ale with the sharks today."
