Claude smashes the spider's cephalothorax in with the heavy blade. The force makes it spit a bundle of lockpicks at the swordman, no doubt the remains of an unfortunate adventurer.

"Not a fluke!" Claude triumphantly proclaimed after he swapped swords, swung the heavy blade onto the spider and half cut, half crushed its exoskeleton. He was panting and wounded but satisfied with the results of his little display of skill.

He'd even dodged a whole two swipes.

"And the spider had stuffing. Probably from some unfortunate treasure hunter." he commented as he picked up the set of lockpicks half-covered in ichor.

It was a pretty nice dodge, though she was probably still more impressed by a good hit on an enemy.

"Well now we know that others came down here, and I suppose soon enough we'll find out how far they went," Angelica remarks as she rides towards Claude, healing him before lifting him on her horse.


"Anyhow, with this room cleared out, how about I get everyone a bit closer to the doors hmm?" she says with a smile as she loops around a bit and drops Claude off near one of the doors.

N29, heal Claude, throw him on the horse, Canto to K27, drop Claude on L27

Claude hopped on the back of Angelica's horse and enjoyed her services of swift tactical relocation.

"When I started to learn swordsmanship I considered purchasing a horse for that extra edge in combat."

"But I was already learning how to fight, and adding horseback riding to my classes would be too much of a hassle."

"Fair enough I suppose. Riding a horse into combat is a lot different than just riding a horse to town. It takes some time to get used to some of the differences for combat, but the added mobility is quite nice I find,"
