"A good question," the mage answered "It's a question of how things should be classified and whose theories are actually correct, really. From what all that I've managed to procure and read over the years, it seems the commonly held belief among academics is that there are three, but then there are others who contest otherwise.
      The followers of the old and new gods alike for example, some assert that their deities are inherently separate from mere spirits, on a higher plane altogether. While Others counter with what those followers would essentially deem sacriledge, by saying the gods and spirits are not infact separate, but one in the same. Yet still, other, less common arguments claim that, while deities and divine spirits are one in the same, the divines have some sort of tiered hierarchy which separates them into orders of magnitude, gods at the top, and lesser servant divines at the bottom.
       Then there seems to be similar arguments for how Dark spirits are organized, debates as to whether they are the inherent antithesis of gods and divine spirits or something else. As I said, what I shared with you earlier is merely the basics of magic- it can, and does, get quite a bit more complicated the deeper into things you delve. I simply used 'etcetera' to fill in the many possible blanks that I myself lack the concrete answers to right now."

"Anyway, do you have anything else on your mind regarding magic?"

[Aliemma]

"For now, no. At the very least, you've probably had enough of my blabbering about this thing... I should really get over it..." The rider sighed a little, but she smiled at him shortly after.
"Obviously, whether Ophia catches on quickly is another question entirely, but she shouldn't throw me off,"
"Thank you so much; I definitely owe you one at some point! Just let me know whenever you need anything." Her demeanor turned on a dime as per usual, but she did seem pensive. She just had to keep in mind it was spirits... Just spirits... Whatever little bit helped, she supposed. She still had so many questions, but those would most likely saved for another time. Granted, she was most likely not going to remember everything. Agh, she was getting ahead of herself by now. Maria just hoped that she'd be able to keep it in mind in the heat of battle.

[Sutoratosu Akira]

"Don't mention it," The mage nodded "My sisters used to ask the same types of questions, when we were all younger... it's really nothing. If you ever have anything else to ask about it, feel free to come find me again and I'll answer to the best of my knowledge. You might also benefit from talking to a few of the other magic users with us, by the way; What I've managed to find and study over the years has been fairly general, and I only went with the Anima magic because they were the only type of tomes I had available. The others are properly far more specialized in their fields, and have their own interesting perspectives to share on the subject."

[Haspen]

"Ashlyn." Ethan moved up to one of his crewmates.

"I remember correctly you have the map the Abbess gave us?"

[Sirus]

"Hmm, well there was that other one sent with us. I... don't remember his name if I'm being honest. But maybe you two were sent both because you'll be helpful, but also because it will be good for you. You'll get experience and that sort of thing."

Amberly cocked her head to the side at that, considering.

: "Hm. Yes, that does make sense. They say there's nothing like hands-on experience...and if I may be allowed a moment of immodesty I can state with certainty that my magical abilities have grown more on this one trip than they have in the past year. I imagine that's not uncommon when you're actively putting your training to use."

[I_Like_Pi]

Ashlyn took the maps out of her pack.

"Yeah, got 'em right here captain. Planning on heading out soon?"

[Haspen]

"Hm, yes..." Ethan took the maps and began to look over them.

[Solymr]

Ethan proceeded to line up the orb and the maps as the old abbess told him to, and three sparkles revealed the locations of the Great Treasures of Alvada.

Now they had to choose which one to go after first.

[Haspen]

"Huh." Ethan looked at the map again.

"Port Omega, Demon's Grin and Demura. Yes, we will go this route." Then he looked around.


"I think we're missing few of our friends, Ashlyn?"

[I_Like_Pi]

Ashlyn shrugged.

"They're probably just being quiet, or thinking about the task at hand captain."

[Caellath]

"You have to admire such a penny-pinching miser." In the end, with the absence of party input Claude chose to purchase what seemed the most adequate for future needs.

As everyone finally gathers 'round the Blackbones to set sail, Claude gets the good stuff and distributes it among the crew.

Party loses 1430 gold.
Lavinia gets Iron Lance.
Marlow gets Iron Knife.
Lysander gets Barrier.

~~Chapter 3: Bon Voyage~~

And so they sailed towards Port Omega, where the Orb said the first treasure they were going to go after was located. But not even three hours after leaving port, Ethan noticed they were being followed.

The winds were starting to feel strange when Ethan saw not one, but two ships in pursuit of the Blackbones. Despite the caravel's speed, they were quickly catching up to them.

[Haspen]

"It seems that we've got some unwanted attention." Ethan patted his belt and looked at it.

"Claude, where's my spyglass?"

[Caellath]

"Here. I found it and decided to give it a shine." Claude said as he readily appeared, giving Ethan the required item while holding several parchments in his other arm.
