The guard, a high ranking officer, was telling the group about the high security research floor as he led them to Atan's laboratory. The floor was much gloomier than the bottom floors of the Tower, deadly silent and with nary a soul in sight around the corridors.

The walls here are magically reinforced so that not only they're nigh indestructible, no sound is capable of getting through them. The doors have similar properties, so yelling for help or trying to break out will not work. If we don't hear anything from you in one hour, we'll open the door and go in ourselves just in case. Keep in mind the walls will also block any teleportation spells from letting you through...

Here we are. After the full disclosure, they were finally at Atan's door.

: So if everything goes wrong, we just have to survive for one hour locked in here... Doable, I suppose. Carmen's glowering enthusiasm was showing again as the door opened and the group entered the laboratory.

The sinister ambience was even worse inside. As soon as the door shut behind them, red goop began flowing upwards from the floor to form some unnatural humanoid entities.
