As Gawen the walking armory walked away from the shops she found a hooded guard looking for her.

Excuse me, are you part of the crew of the... The guard checked a piece of paper he had on him. Blackbones?

Gawen puts her Steel Blade up in storage.


"Not crew, per se, but yes, I am traveling aboard. Is there an issue?"

My daughter's in that crew, you see. Do you know her? Ashlyn? The guard put his hand up to Ashlyn's approximate height (not high).

[Chevaleresse]

Gawen raised an eyebrow.

"Ashlyn? I suppose she did mention being from here. . . I'm not sure where she is at this very moment, but I can find her and bring her back here?"

[Solymr]

I'm sure we'll have time to catch up later, there's actually something important first. The boss wants to see you, especially your captain.

"I see. I'll find the crew at once, then."

Fer walked around the magic shops with an expression something more akin to that of a kid at a candy shop - and, he (presumably along with the other two nerds) made a series of purchases aimed at strengthening the power of the magical end of the team, including the staff-wielders.

As he purchased the Gotoh from the Anima-focused store, flipping through the newly-purchased tome and eyeing its sigilwork with a careful but quite pleased eye, he chatted up the shopkeeper some.

:"I'm curious, what's the relation between tome sales and tome research over here? I come from magic archiving and distribution over on the Alvadan side, and we had a front end that sold copies of the more readily available and easily copied tomes we had, but it definitely was a more anciliary operation than our larger archiving and research work. The shops here are incredible. Are you all directly connected to the research work, or are these independent enterprises?"

Most of these are surplus from researchers. You wouldn't believe how many people think they've reinvented the wheel only for the big man to tell them their tome was new a few centuries ago! I did it a couple times myself, and when I found what I was looking for I decided to put all my extras to good use. The shopkeeper tapped some of the rarer tomes.

: "Surplus or not, these look like they will do nicely. I do have a few used tomes that need retiring, however. How much can you give me for these?"

Amberly sells Light Screen and Sacred Fire from her inventory, as well as the burnt out Fire tome from storage. She also purchases Magic Seal.
