The captain dealt a decent blow, but the monster's retaliation was even stronger.

X-12, use Purge on Bicephalon. Use Benediction if necessary to guarantee a hit.

As Amberly prayed and joined Fer in the long range magic, a great pillar of light descended and smote the monster with great fury! Enraged, it let out a powerful roar of demonic anger.

"Claude!" In the heat of battle, Lavinia had no space for worries or concerns, but seeing Claude flung across the planks by the two-axed abomination still shocked her.

Enough that even though she was moving before she knew it, she was still slower than Ethan leaping into action and Amberly's purging light. What her body intended to be a full-on charge became only an interposition, planting herself on the planks between Claude and the monster.

If it wanted Claude again, let it try to make it through both the captain and her.

Fer had about half-a-second to feel guilty about asking Claude to take the hit for him and getting Claude fucking annihilated - and then Claude slammed into him with enough force to knock the wind out of his lungs.
:"Hm, damn, yeah, of course that'd happen sorry Claude. I'm gonna take a crack at it again."

That roar seemed a little more than mundane to Fer, but at his distance Fer could feel only but the tinges of whatever effect the thing had up. That worked well enough.

Taking a few steps down the deck, Fer launched a meteor down at the demon.
X13 (I see that fucking archer), Meteor Bicephalon.

Fer incantated the spell, and the fog above opened to a bright sphere coming down fast. Fer brought the massive ball of fire with all his magical might on top of the monster's heads, causing a great explosion that blinded Ethan and Lavinia for a moment, as a mushroom cloud rose above them.

Quote from: Fer vs Bicephalon
Fer attacks!
Hit: 130 + 10 + 5 + 10 - 74 = 81. Roll: 20. Hit!
Crit: 15 + 20 + 5 - 20 = 20. Roll: 1. Critical! //bruh
Bicephalon takes 38 + 2 + 2 - 20 = 22 * 3 = 66 damage!
Bicephalon dies!

The remains of the skeletal monster in front of Ethan dissipated, and the two circlets that stood on what were its skulls came together. After a small flash of light, Ethan caught in his hands the Crown of Flight.

On the deck of the ghost ships, the rest could feel their foothold become unstable.

: Everyone, to the Blackbones! Carmen rushed with the rest to the only real ship, with Blake rushing to grab what he could, before the ghost ships faded along with the fog.

Gawen waited to ensure Claude was properly shuffled back onto the real ship before hurrying her steed along, who was visibly displeased at the state of his footing.

"Is it wrong of me to admit to being somewhat disappointed? I expected that battle to be more. . . climactic."

: "That's probably a good thing, considering that our only transport is a wooden ship. Armageddon may well have set the whole thing ablaze."

Then again, a divine ray of light and a meteor from the heavens hadn't set any fires, so perhaps Amberly just didn't know all that much about boats.

Sure the first ax strike was bad, but the second was really the kicker. Claude lost his consciousness for a few seconds as he experienced Armageclaude and smashed into Fer so hard he'd probably left a swordsman-shaped bruise on the mage.

"Lavinia?" At least it was nice to see her in front of him first thing after waking back up.

"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

"I wouldn't call it a 'desire', I am merely curious. Fer described that spell in a very intriguing manner.
