"Ah! Sorry Amberly, I'll talk to you later."

Rushing over to Lavinia, he healed her as quickly as he could.

"Sorry I missed you. Are you ok now?"

[Sirus]

Oops. She hadn't meant to distract the healer from his job.

: "Is there anything I can do to help, Mr Claude?"

[Gaterhyme]

Lavinia straightened up, letting out an almost involuntary sigh as the healing took effect.

"Thanks. Things got a bit too busy there."

"... And you know me, Lysander. I'll be fine. Can't go dying on the captain, can I? Especially when you're around."

[Caellath]

Claude let go of Lavinia now that she was fine and straightened back up. At least this time he hadn't been smashed into the ground repeatedly, but at the cost of not contributing at all to the fight thanks to an excess of lances, mounted archers and plain dangerous enemies. That was simultaneously frustrating and disappointing.

"Nothing, Amberly. You did well enough back there."

[Sirus]

: "Thank you, sir. Um. Do you have a title or anything I should use? You seem to be second-in-command here."

[Caellath]

"I'm only the quartermaster. Lavinia here is the first mate." Claude replied, nodding towards the lancer by his side.

[Swordstar]

"Claude just tends to be talkative and he knows a lot of stuff about money, so he takes care of anything like that. And then Ashlyn does her best at cooking and is the lookout and muscle and stuff. And I'm obviously the healer, and that's the crew!"

[Sirus]

Amberly was just racking up the faux-pas today, it seemed.

: "I'm...so sorry. This has been a very strange day." The nun bowed towards the two privateers.

: "So, your crew is only five people? I thought ships usually had more than that."

[Swordstar]

"Don't feel bad, it's an easy mistake. Especially since Lavinia is a lot quieter than Claude. And yeah, just us five. Before they... err, recruited me, it was just the four of them."

[Sirus]

: "Oh? I'd like to hear some stories sometime.

"Just...probably not now. With the, well...mess."

[Caellath]

"We could share stories as we make our way to the House. With those bounty hunters gone it's likely we'll face less nuisances on the way there."

[Swordstar]

Lysander froze for a second and then gave a hesitant nod.

"I... Yeah, I could share stories some time maybe. Not... right now like you said. I'm going to go check on people."

He quickly moved away, heading towards Ashlyn, making a gesture towards his staff.

"You all good? I can patch you up if not."

[I_Like_Pi]

Ashlyn gave Lysander a confident smirk, still proud of her performance.

"Naw, I'm fine. Got hit by one of the archers towards the end there but it's nothing that can't heal by itself. How 'but you? I got kinda distracted by the second group so I couldn't keep an eye on you."

[Swordstar]

He frowned, slightly annoyed.

"I don't need people looking out for me. I can take care of myself. I've been working on a thing... I think I figured out how to heal myself at the same time that I'm healing someone else. It's not quite as effective, but it should still help."

He also gestured towards the knife in his belt.

"Besides, I... I need to be able to protect myself too. I can't be depending on you guys always being there to protect me. ... Not when I know that there isn't always going to be someone there."

[I_Like_Pi]

Ashlyn frowned back.

"You're still our only healer and need protection. And anyway, if there's someone sturdier they should be taking the hits. I know I don't look it, but I can take more than my fair share of damage."

She stared at the combat knife, internally debating something.

"Did you even train with those things? Or did you just decide to pick them up?"
