After purchasing the items, he quickly reunited with the crew at the tavern.

"And I come with the goods and with news. The weaponsmith said there were bounty hunters around earlier asking for you, Ethan. It sounds like we'll be getting in trouble sooner rather than later."

[Solymr]

*KCHING* The gold changed hands and Claude could haul a load of iron by himself. Until he'd get tired and drop it, that is.

: "Bounty...hunters? What has your captain done to have a bounty placed on his head?" Though little of the nun's face could be seen, she pretty clearly was beginning to have second thoughts about this arrangement.

[Caellath]

"Our job does piss off a fair number of people, most of them Domirians, on a regular basis."

[Gaterhyme]

"Ethan's not a bad sort," Lavinia said, glancing at Lysander for a moment before deciding not to drag him into it. "Sorry, captain. Know you've got a reputation to keep."

"Bet they're just in it for the gold. They won't care why he's got a price on him - and with all these new hands, we can take them."

"I say we find them, scrap with them, make sure they know we're not worth the money."

[Sirus]

: "...could we just focus on getting to the House of Scholars, instead?"

[Gaterhyme]

"They'll keep chasing. We get into a fight now, we don't have to drag the scholars into it, either."

But she was ready to go too, if that was what they were doing. Talking wasn't much progress towards anything.

[Sirus]

: "I don't think you'll be able to get into a fight now even if you wanted to. Surely the Guards would get involved in any major fights within the city, and would probably focus on whoever starts it. These bounty hunters probably know that as well...which means that if they do come after you, they'll wait until you leave the city and attack in the wilderness."

[Swordstar]

Lysander shivered as the discussion of bounty hunters came up. There seemed to be doubts about what Ethan had done to deserve such a thing, and the glance Lavinia gave him made him pale, but thankfully she moved past it. Quietly he spoke up in response to Amberly.

"Yeah. They won't start anything here. But they'll have eyes on us probably... It's not going to be safe to travel with us. Our captain picks fights with those who deserve it and that's gotten him enemies. Plus he works for the government and takes down Domarian ships which also makes him enemies. But... he's a good man. And we'll do what we can to protect him. But if you don't want to take that risk, I think we'd all understand."

The mage wasn't your typical fighter, that much was clear. While her information would be useful, Lysander didn't want her to come along and regret it halfway there. Better she was warned from the start.

[Caellath]

"We're likely not finding them, they'll want to have the drop on us. We'll just have to be prepared for an ambush." Claude said with a shrug on the bounty hunter matter.

"Either way, we number nine now and their chance of winning a fight is zero. Trust me, I'm really good with numbers." He added with a cocky smile.

[Haspen]

"Let's go, then. Bounty Hunters or not, we won't get to House of Scholars by staying in the city." Ethan then led the group to the southern gate.

[Solymr]

As soon as Ethan and the rest stepped out of the city through the southern gate, a group of horsemen appeared from down the road. One of them, the presumed leader, took a step forward and talked at Ethan.

: Excuse me, are you by any chance Ethan Valle?

[Haspen]

"No."

[Solymr]

: Please, you could have tried harder to deceive me! Green hair, carrying an axe and accompanied by a crew, there's no mistaking you! Brisker unsheathed his sword as the rest of his group prepared for battle. Get him!
